In this acct. only of English & not negro or Indian, slaves or ser- vants.


That in this account I reckon the day that any died on from mid- night to midnight. That there was a child of Capt. Chatfield and of Thomas Mulford's and a child of Sarah Merrys, that I had not noted down in the loose papers out of which I extracted these & knew not the time of their deaths.

A daugh- ter of David Fithians, abt. 7 years, & a negro lad of Joseph Strettons, going home over Georgike from meeting, were drowned just as Yy got over, ye canoe looking and sinking.


Oct. 13. Christopher, son of Tim. Mulford, died abt. 4 in morning, aged 7 weeks.


Dec. 12. One Elisabeth Hunter (whose relations lived abt. Southold, sojourning at Mr. John Strettons, was taken sick there), died this morning abt. 4 of the clock.


1720 May 6. A daughter of Thomas Chatfield, died abt. II a. m., aged abt. 5 or 6 weeks.


June 16. The wife of James Hand, Senr., formerly Dibble, died abt. 10 at night, aged abt. 22 years old.


Aug. 4. A child daughter of Sam. Hedges, aged abt. 2 years, died abt. 6 P. M.

14. Mrs. Johnson, mother of Ebenezer Johnson (yt mar- ried Rebecca Shaw), died at his house & was car- ried to be buried at Bridgehampton.

Dec. Henry Buck, having been outdone in a cold storm, coming ashore at Rhode Island, almost dead, died a little after he got on shore, aged abt. 22 years. It was abt. ye middle of yt months yt he died.

June While I was gone to Boston, a child daughter of Thomas Chatfield died, about 5 or 6 weeks old.


July 28. A son of Henry Piersons, of Southampton, nursed up at Sam Parsons, aged abt. 4 month, died in night. Sept. 29. John Stretton, Junr., son of Mr. John Stretton, aged abt. 22 years, died a little after sunrise.
