Whereas certain citizens of the Town of East- Hampton, to wit, Thomas D. Barnes, George Hedges and others, to the number of thirteen, as appears by the petition filed herewith, have requested the Com- missioners of Highways of said Town to make such alteration in the highway known as the "Country Road " at a place called " Jericho Hill," by extend- ing the south line of said highway so as to incorpor- ate ground more conevnient for the public use as highway, reference to said petition being had as may more fully appear,

Now, Therefore, we, the Commissioners of High- ways of the Town of East-Hampton, all of said Com- missioners having been duly notified to attend and deliberate upon the subject of this order,


Do Order, that the south line of said "Country Road " highway running to and over "Jericho Hill," be altered so as to conform to a survey which we have caused to be made of the same, which is hereto annexed, and form a part of this order, and is de- scribed as follows, to wit: The south line of the alteration (the red line) beginning at a certain gran- ite post or stone (A) fixed in the ground at the point where the south line of the said "Country Road " highway is intersected by the north line of the high- way running along by the north side of the land late of Timothy Hedges, deceased, and running thence S. 80 deg. W. 7.29 ch. to and over " Jericho Hill" to a certain stake (B); then S. 61} deg. W. 7.45 ch. to the north corner of the land late of Timothy Hedges, now of George Hedges, where the new line strikes or falls into the south line of said "Country Road " highway as heretofore defined and recorded (C).


And we do further order, that all the lands lying between the old line of said "Country Road " high- way and the new line as above described, be incor- porated with and become a part of said highway (Country Road).

At the annual Town Meeting of the Town of East- Hampton, held at Clinton Academy, April 6th. 1880, Henry B. Tuthill, Esq., was chosen Chairman, and Joseph S Osborne, Town Clerk, acted as Clerk.


The annual report of the Supervisor was read and accepted.


Resolved, That the Supervisor of the Town be, and is hereby, authorized to borrow on his note, as Super- visor, the sum of sixty dollars, to pay existing defi- ciency in Contingent Fund.


Resolved, That the sum of six hundred dollars be raised by tax, to defray the expenses of the Contin- gent Fund for the ensuing year.

E. to the ocean. Also beginning at a stone in the cen- tre of the highway leading toward the ocean at the easterly end of Amagansett, said stone being oppo- site the southerly corner of land of Marian Miller, from said stone the south corner of N. Whereas a certain road in the Town of East-Hamp- ton, running in an easterly direction from "Lily Hill," and usually known as "Town Lane " has been used as a public highway for twenty years and has not been recorded. Now, therefore, we, the Commis- sioners of Highways of said Town of East-Hampton, all of said Commissioners having been duly notified to attend and deliberate upon the subject of this or- der,
