Whereas a road leading from the Fire Place high- way along the southwest side of the homestead of the late John E. Parsons, deceased, down to the head of Hog Creek usually called the Hog Creek road, has been used for twenty years as a highway but has never been recorded.
Now, therefore, we the undersigned commissioners of highways of said town of East-Hampton, all of said commissioners having been duly notified to attend and deliberate upon the subject of this order,
Do Order, that said road be ascertained, described and entered of record in the Clerk's office of said town according to a survey which has been made un- der our direction, as follows, to wit: Beginning at a stake on the northwest side of the Fire Place high- way (A on the map), which stake bears from the south corner of the late residence of John E. Page 111, Book K .- At the annual Town Meeting held April 1st, 1873, at the Academy, in the Town of East-Hampton, Henry B. Tuthill, Esq., elected Chair. man, and J. C. Hedges, Town Clerk, acted as Clerk.
It was voted that the meeting proceed to the elec- tion of town officers and that the polls of the election close at half-past 2 o'clock P. M.
It was voted that the meeting go on with the ordin- ary business before canvassing the votes.
The Supervisor's report showing a balance against the Town of $17.43 was read and accepted.
It was voted to raise $500 for the contingent ex- penses of the Town.
The Overseers of the Poor reported a balance of $116.63 in favor of the Town, their report was accept- ed.
It was voted to raise $800 for the support of the poor.
The Trustees reported a balance of $8.07 on hand, report was accepted.

Resolved, That this Town's poor be supported in our own Town, and that those now at the County poor house be returned and supported here, excepting such as may be insane or otherwise unfit to have their lib- erty.
The above resolution was amended so as to read as follows and adopted, viz:
Resolved, That the matter of supporting the poor be left to the Overseers of the Poor.
