At the annual Town Meeting held April 7th, 1874, at the Academy in the Town of East-Hampton, Henry B. Tuthill, Esq., was chosen Chairman, and John C. Hedges, Town Clerk, acted as Clerk.
It was voted that the meeting proceed to the elec- tion of Town Officers and that the Polls of the elec- tion close at 6 o'clock P. M.
The Supervisor's report was read and accepted.
It was voted that the sum of five hundred dollars be raised for the use of the Supervisor.

The report of the Overseers of the Poor was read and accepted.
It was voted to raise twelve hundred dollars for the support of the poor.
The report of the Commissioners of Highways was read and adopted.
It was voted that the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars be raised for the use of the Commissioners of Highways.
The report of the Trustees of the Town, showing a balance against the town of fifty-eight cents was read and adopted.
It was voted that the matter of the seaweed be left with the Trustees of the Town.
It was resolved, that the Trustees be directed to maintain and defend all the rights and privileges of every description granted to the Freeholders and Commonalty by the several patents of Richard Nicoll, Esq. and Thomas Dongan, Esq.
It was resolved, that the sum of five hundred dol- lars be raised to apply to the payment of any expen- ses which may be incurred by the said Trustees in carrying out the foregoing resolutions.
It was voted that the Trustees be instruced to do their duty in carrying out the foregoing resolutions.
It was voted that the Trustees be instructed to get legal advice before they go into litigation.
It was resolved, that the business of this meeting (excepting balloting and canvassing) be adjourned to the first Tuesday in April, 1875, at 12 o'clock M.

The undersigned commissioners of highways of the town of East-Hampton, Suffolk County, having met on the premises at the south end of the Main street of said town of East-Hampton to decide upon the ap- plication of David H. Huntting, a resident of said town, liable to be assessed for highway labor there- in, for the alteration of the road at the north end of Ocean Avenue, and part of the south end of the Main street, all of said commissioners having been notified to attend and deliberate upon the subject of this or- der,
Do hereby order, that the east line of the street and avenue (beginning at the west corner of the lot of C. P. B. Jeffery) shall run from said Jeffery's cor- ner on a straight course across the front of John D. Hedges' premises (said Hedges having released all his land lying west and northwest of this line for the purposes of a highway) 8.48 ch. (the red line on the map) to the north corner of the lot of J. S. Satter- thwaite, where it strikes the present east line of Ocean Avenue. Also that the west line of the street and avenue be altered by beginning the alteration at a stake (A on the map) at the northeast corner of George B. Elkin's land and running S. 20} deg. E. 1.40 ch. to a stake (B on the map), then S. 6 deg. W. 11.02 ch. opposite to part of the front of John D. Hedges, the whole front of J. S. Satterthwaite, and part of the front of Mrs. J. C. Fowler, to a stake (C on the map) at an angle of the Ocean Avenue highway op- posite the land of Mrs. Fowler. The highway being three rods wide at B and continuing the same width

At the annual Town Meeting of the Town of East- Hampton, held at Clinton Academy April 6th, 1875, H. B. Tuthill, Esq., was chosen Chairman, and Joseph S. Osborne, Town Clerk, acted as Clerk.
On motion it was voted that the Polls of this elec- tion be closed at four o'clock P. M.
On motion it was voted that Samuel P. Osborne - act as assistant clerk.
Supervisor's report was read and accepted.
It was voted to raise five hundred dollars ($500.00) for the use of the Supervisor.
Overseers of Poor report read and accepted.
It was voted to raise two thousand dollars ($2,000) for the use of the Overseers of the Poor.
Report of the Commissioners of Highways read and accepted.
Two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00) was voted to the use of the Commissioners of Highways.

On motion it was resolved, that the Trustees of the Town of East-Hampton be and are hereby direct- ed and required to discontinue the action brought in the Supreme Court for Suffolk County by "the Trus- tees of the Freeholders and Commonalty of the Town of East-Hampton " against "Josiah Kirk," and to stop all proceedings in the motion made for a new trial therein.

On motion it was resolved, as the opinion of those assembled at this meeting, that the Long Wharf at Sag-Harbor should be free, without toll or exaction of any kind from persons or property passing over it, and that charges should only be assessed upon ves- sels using it or their cargoes deposited upon it.
