Admitted to bar at Jacksonville, Fla., June 4, 1898, and practised law there until April, 1906, when moved to N. Y. City and opened present offices, engaging in practise of pro- fession. Elected alderman, Jacksonville, Fla., 1901, re-elected 1903, 1905; brought a test case against the "Jim Crow" street car law of Florida, 1905, and suc- ceeded in having it declared unconstitutional; case re- ported in Southern Reporter as case of State of Flor- ida vs. Andrew Pattison. As a result he became very unpopular and had life threatend several times, after which moved to N. Y. City. Republican; Unitarlan.
