GIRLS' SCHOOLS-NEW YORK CITY

Choosing a School

In selecting a school for your daughter, you would like to know:

What is the MORAL tone of the school; what is its influence, its ideals, its traditions ; does its whole aim, influence and teaching make for strong, high-minded character?

What is the SCHOLARSHIP standard; is it thorough, is it practi- cal; does it fundamentally teach the pupil to think for herself?

THE BARNARD SCHOOL FOR GIRLS has been studying this ques- tion of school efficiency for eighteen years, and in its solution we have found the constant factor is the teacher.

Therefore we have chosen our teachers most carefully, not only as to scholarship and training, but as to character and refinement. We know our teachers intimately, not only in the school, but in their home life.

A school is judged by its results. Therefore we beg to refer you to the mothers, whose daughters are now, or have been, in the school; to the colleges which our girls have en- tered, and to our alumnae.
