Missionary to Denmark 1879-81; first bishop of Price, Utah, 1882-96. Together with the stake presidency located and surveyed the present town of Price. Gave the church land for meeting house, tabernacle, tithing office, public school and city hall at Price. Minuteman under C. C. Anderson at Mt. Pleasant in Black Hawk war. He moved from Mt. Pleasant to Price in 1859. Died May 21, 1898, Price, Utah.
