Moved from St. George to Thurber, Utah, 1883, where he labored as teacher, assistant superintendent Sunday school and home missionary; helped to bulld up Thurber and the sur- rounding country. Moved from Thurber to Nihley, Ore., 1902, where he acted as ward teacher and home missionary, and helped to build up the city of Nibley. From there he moved to Union, Ore., where he was ward teacher.

Pioneer to Manti November, 1849; moved to "Dixle" (Rockvlile) 1862; then to Johnson's Fort where he lived one year; then to Kanarraville where he resided three years; returned to Manti 1871; next resided at Petteyville (Sterling) six years; moved to St. John, Ariz. and then back to Utah; resIded at Mayfield several years; then moved to Emery 1888. Parti- cipated in the Indian trouble April 3, 1849, at Battle Creek, Utah, also took part In the Walker Indian war 1853; and when the Black Hawk trouble started was in Rabbit val- ley protecting the settiers from Indian attacks.

Has crossed desert from Salt Lake City to Callfornia twenty times. Member of body guard of Brig- ham Young and Danicl H. Wells.
