REPORT OF THE INSPECTOR OF ANIMALS
January 1, 1934
To the Selectmen of Medfield:
Gentlemen:
I hereby submit to you my report of the past year.
During the year I have quarantined 7 dogs, that have bitten various people. Six of these dogs, after being quarantined 14 days, were examined and not showing signs of Rabies, were released and the owners notified. The other dog is still in quarantine as the usual quarantine period of 14 days has not elapsed.
One bull arrived from out of state, and I reported this to the Division of Animal Industry. On December 22, six more cattle arrived from out of state and this was also reported to the Division of Animal Industry.
I received orders, November 20, from the Division of Animal Industry, to make the complete annual inspection of all cattle, swine, sheep, and goats, kept in this town, this inspec- tion to be completed on or before December 31, 1933, which was done.
During this inspection, I visited 32 stables, in which were kept 345 cattle, 596 swine, no sheep, and 1 goat. I also found the stables and cattle in very clean condition, with a few exceptions.
Very truly yours,
GEORGE S. CHENEY, Inspector of Animals.
