REPORT OF THE INSPECTOR OF ANIMALS
January 1, 1932.
To the Selectmen of Medfield:
Gentlemen:
I hereby submit to you my report for the past year.
About November 15, 1930, I received orders from the Di- rector of the Division of Animal Industry, State House, Bos- ton, Mass., to make the annual complete census and inspec- tion of all cattle, sheep, swine, and goats, kept in this town, this inspection to be completed not later than February 1, 1931. During this examination, I visited 32 stables, in which were kept 277 cattle, 324 swine, no sheep, and 1 goat. The animals appeared healthy physically, and most of the stables were kept clean. At that time, of the 277 cattle examined, 215 were Supervision tested.
In the latter part of May, 1931, I took out a petition to be signed by the cattle owners of this town, to have all cattle tested under State and Federal Supervision. All owners signed this petition except one who was away. Medfield's first com- plete test came September 28 and 29, 1931. Seventy-nine an- imals were tested at this time, and only six reacted, these reacting cattle were appraised and later sold for slaughter and their stables cleaned and disinfected. This makes all cattle in this town under State and Federal Supervision.
On February 5, 1931, nineteen cattle arrived from Maine and on August 12, 1931, 8 cattle arrived from Maine. On September 5, 1931, 2 cattle arrived from Vermont. These cat- tle were examined in the usual manner and released.
During the past year, four persons were bitten by four dif- ferent dogs, these dogs were all quarantined for a period of 14 days at which time showed no signs of disease and were released.
Very truly yours, GEORGE S. CHENEY, Inspector of Animals.

REPORT OF THE CEMETERY COMMISSIONERS
To the Board of Selectmen:
Work was carried on in the cemetery as usual during the year.
Owing to the very wet weather, we had to do more mowing than usual.
Water pipes were laid and faucets installed. Due to the fact that Avenues in Section D are not laid out, water pipes were not installed in this section. The pipes and faucets for this section have been purchased and we are desirous of being able to lay out the Avenues and install water so that we will have new lots available.
The interest on the Trust Funds was reduced in 1931, and we therefore recommend an appropriation of $2,500.00.
Yours truly,
JOSEPH A. ROBERTS, JOHN R. MILLER, PETER PEDERZINI,
Cemetery Commissioners.
