To either of the Constables of the Town of Medfield, in said County, greeting :
In the name of the Commonwealth you are directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Medfield. qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall, in said Medfield on Monday, the 7th day of March, A. D. 1938, at 6:00 A.M., then and there to act on the following articles :
Article 1. To choose all Town Officers required to be elected annually by ballot, to wit :
One Moderator, One Town Clerk, One Treasurer, One Collector of Taxes, Three Constables, One Tree Warden, all for one year. One Trustee of the Public Library for two years. One Selectman, One Assessor, One Member of the School Committee, Two Trustees of the Public Library, One Member of the Board of Health, One Ceme- tery Commissioner, One Member of the Water and Sewer- age Board, One Member of the Board of Public Welfare, all for three years. One Member of the Planning Board for five years.
The polls to be opened at 6:15 A.M. and may be closed at 2:00 P.M.

Article 5. To see if the town will vote to authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning Jan. 1, 1938, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Chapter 44, Section 17, General Laws.
Article 6. To determine in what manner the taxes shall be collected for the ensuing year, also determine what percentage shall be allowed the Collector for the ensuing year.
Article 7. To see what compensation the town will allow the members of the Fire Department for the ensuing year.
Article 8. To see if the town will authorize the Col- lector to use all means in the collection of taxes as the Treasurer might if elected to that office.

Article 9. To see how much per hour the town will allow for work on the highways for the ensuing year.
Article 10. To see if the town will authorize the Water and Sewerage Board to appoint one of its members as Water Registrar.
Article 11. To see what compensation the town will allow the Water Registrar for the ensuing year.
Article 12. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise and appropriate to be used in conjunction with W.P.A. projects, under the direction of the Selectmen, or act in any manner relating thereto.
Article 13. To hear and act on the report of the Planning Board instructed under Article 19 of Annual Town Meeting to study and submit recommendations for Zoning By-Laws to some subsequent meeting for approval.
Article 14. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $400. for consulting services, maps and printing in regard to the Zoning By-Laws.

Article 15. To see if the town will vote to authorize the employment of welfare recipients in any department at any time such labor is available. (Board of Public Welfare)
Article 16. To hear and act on the report of the com- mittee appointed under Article 4 of the Annual Town Meeting of 1937 to investigate the water rates charged the town by the Department of Mental Diseases.
Article 17. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the care of the Town Dump.

Article 18. To see if the town will vote to appoint a committee of Five and authorize it to make arrange- ments and spend money appropriated under Article 4 for the observance of Memorial Day.
Article 19. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the improvement of Chapter 90 Roads, said money to be used in conjunction with any money allotted by the State or County, or both, for this purpose, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 20. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $800. for installing a new boiler at the Ralph Wheelock school, or do or act anything per- taining thereto. (School Committee)
Article 21. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $60. for the purchase of a safe for the Collector's Department.
Article 22. To hear and act on the report of the com- mittee appointed under Article 13 of the Annual Town Meeting "To appraise for the purpose of selling, the 16 acres of land formerly used by the Water Department as a source of water supply and have it report its findings at a future meeting."
Article 23. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purchase of a new police car.
Article 24. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $396.25 for Public Liability Insur- ance to cover the following motor vehicles owned by the town: 1 White truck, 1 International truck, 1 Fordson Tractor, 3 Fire trucks and 1 Police car.

Chapter 40, Section 12, General Laws
A town which accepts this section, or has accepted cor- responding provisions of earlier laws, by a two-thirds vote at an annual meeting, may purchase or lease land, and erect, alter, enlarge, repair and improve buildings for public baths and wash houses, either with or without open drying grounds, and may make open bathing places, provide them with the requisite furniture, fittings and conveniences and provide instruction in swimming. Such towns may estab- lish rates for the use of such baths and wash houses, and

appoint officers therefor, and may make regulations for the management thereof and for the use thereof by non- residents of said town.
Article 28. To see if the town will vote to appoint a committee of three to inquire into the feasibility of establishing a bathing place within the town limits, said committee to submit plans and estimate of cost at a future meeting.
Article 29. To see if the town will vote to authorize and instruct the Selectmen to order the Boston Edison Co. to discontinue the following street lights :
Causeway Street - one light each on pole 34/11, 34/15, 34/18
South Street - one light each on pole 21/105, 21/97, 21/90. 21/87, 21/66
Spring Street - one light each on pole 21/50. 21/43

Article 30. To see if the town will vote to transfer a sum of money from the Road Machinery Fund to the Highway Machinery Operating Account to defray ex- penses for operation and maintenance of highway machin- ery during the year 1938.
Article 31. To see if the town will instruct the Water Board to amend Section 14 of the Rules and Regulations Water Rates of the Water Department of the Town of Medfield to read: "The minimum rate $16.00 per year. All other rates to remain unchanged."
Article 32. To see if the town will instruct the Water Board to make a survey of our water department and recommend ways and means of placing the Water Depart- ment on a self-supporting basis, and report at the next Annual Town Meeting.
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting an attested copy thereof, in the usual place for posting warrants in said Medfield, seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting.
Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon, unto the Town Clerk at the time and place of meeting aforesaid.
