Book O, page 11 .- Voated at a publick towne meting in Easthampton yt warning bee given to ye Indians to kill all their doggs unles one to a wigwam but if they neglect or re- fuse to doe it in a ffort nights time then it shalbe Lawfull for any English to kill all ye Indians doggs yt they can meete withall.

That ye aforesaid Capt Hobbart doth & shall in behalfe of himselfe his heires Executors administrators & assignes Re- linquish Renounce & disclaime all Title Interest or propriety in any part or parcell of yt land westward of ye fort Pond & Eastward of Naupeake by vertue of any Bargaine sale, or Lease; either with the Indian called Natt allias Jyampais or any other Indian whomsoever, for ever :

BOOK 4, page G .- It is ordered by the Counstable & ober- seers of this toune that Noe horse Meare or horse Kinde of above one year ould shall goc in the streets of this toune with :- out being suffisiently hoppelled or ffettered: and the bounds Limited for this prohibition shall be from the gate upon the hill by Beniamin Conklins Close Eastward & soe doune by thomas Bee his Land & ober to James Lopers & coe the New street as farr as Jaccob Daytons & the other bounds to be thic Western end of Diamonds Lane and the gate that Leadsinto the Western playnes beyond John Millers to the westward ; and if after the publication of this order any horse Mare or horse Kinde as afforsayd shall be found Within thees Limits before prscribed & Not suffisiently hoppelled or ffettered it shall belawfull for the touns pounder & they are heerby ordered & impowered to impound any such offendor & to Cause the owner to pay twelve pence pr head for impoundage.

Loose Leaf 16.2S .- This Indenture made this 12 day of August in the yeare of our Lord 1683 betwene Richard Stret- ton of Easthampton on ye one partie And John Indian sonn of Wobbeton on the other partie as witnesseth The said John Indian doth bind himselfe a sarvant unto ye said Richard Stretton of Easthan pton and with him to serve & dwell after ye manner of such an apprentice from the day of ye date here- of to ye full vallue & terme of Two yeeres ffully to bee Com- pleated & ended dureing which Terme of time ye said John Indian his master or his order shall faithfully serve & his comands obay in all places & at all times : and as a true & · faithfull sarvant ought to doe & behave himselfe in word & deede I doe ingage & oblige my selfe, The said Richard doth engage to pay ye said John Indian 12 pounds in pay & to bee paid at or before ye yeere 1685 in ye month August ye 12 day & to find ye said John Indian sufficient meate & drinke sufficient for such an Apprentice dureing ye said time & if ye said John Indian doth goe to sea with Consent of Richard Stretton then hee to goe uppon halfe share ye said Richard Stretton to find boate & Craft sutable for a halfe share and I the said John Indian doth Ingage & binde my selfe in a bond of 20 pound to bee paid to Richard Stretton uppon Condition

It is bunderstoode yt all ye time yt ye said John Indian shall goe to sea for or with the Consent of Richard his master soe long as hee is absent from his Master soe long hee doth Ingage to sarve him When & then as his Terme of time is expired and to this Indenture both parties have set to their hands & seales the yere & day above mentioned as witnes our hands this 12 day of August 1653.

And Issaack Mills & Elizabeth his wife Inhabitant within the precincts of Southampton the other pty as ffolloweth : That ye said Renock doe by theise presents bind out his sonn Samuell Garrison unto ye aforesaid Isauck Mills & his wife to live with them as a sarvant or an appren- tice untill hee bee one and Twentie yeeres of age & to pforme unto his Master & dame ffaithfull service according to his abillitie And the foresaid Isaack Mills & his wife doe Ingage themselves to take care of him as a sarvant ought to bec & to provide for him meate drink Lodginge & apparrell sufficient & Comfortable for him dureing the foresaid Terme of time: And ye said Isaack Mills doe bind himselfe by theise presents to learne ye said Samuell his sarvant in ye Art & Trade of a Carpenter soe farr forth as he can & is able & as hee ye said Samuell is Capable to learne, and alsoe ye said Isaack & his wife doe Ingag themselves to teach this their sarvant Samuell to read & write as allsoe to give unto him Two suites of ap- parrell when his time is expired To all & every of ye above
