(Abstract) This Indenture Made this third day of Aprill in the year of our Lord Christ one thous- and six hundred and ninty eight by and Between Edmand Shaw formerly Belonging unto Easthampton in the County of Suffolk upon the Island of Nassaw within the Province of New York In America Labourer of the one party and John Buckland of the foresaid place and County Tayler of the oth- er party : Witneseth that he the said Edmand Shaw for and In Consideration of a valluable som of Currant Money of New York to him the said Edmand Shaw in hand Alredy payd, hath granted and Confirmed unto the said John Buckland as followeth Viz: one hom lott of Land In Easthampto Aforsaid Contayning six Acres be it More or Less Bounded with the Land of lyon Gardiner on the Northeast ; the land Robert Dayton on the Southeast ; and the Common on the South- west and Northwest with all housing garding orcherds and fencing to the same belonging or any waies Appertayning and one fifth part of that parcell or tract of land which was layd out the last division in The woods Commonly knowne by the Name of Alewive Brook neck belongin to the Lott which was My fathers Richerd Shaw deseased and also one fifth part of Commonage belonging to the said Lott and also the third part of tde last division of Medow that was Layed out unto My father Rieherd Shaw and John Parsons Late of East- hampton Deseased as In the Records of the said Easthampton Relaition thereunto May Appeare Leying and being at the farther end of Napeage in two parsels Bounded as here after Mentioned ; the westermost peice North by Samuell parsons Eastward by William Barnes Southward by the sand hills west by John Strettons Meadow : the Eastermost peice west- ward by the Meadow of Jeremiah Miller North ond South by the highways and also one whole share of the hors Mill which is the Eastermost belonging to the aforesaid town of East- hampton together with all Easements wayes proffit Com-

At a Leagall Towne Meeting March the 6th 1698-9 it was then ordered by a Major voate that the sheep dong money for this year shall be Improved to pay the hearding of the Town flock In gennerall and other Charges relating therto so far as it will reach at a Leagall Meeting of the trustees March the 7th 1698-9 after a Long debate with Mr Benj. Conkling & Robort Dayton Snr about Moneyes due to them as they were of a Comitty on the Towns behalfe it was then agreed to by the Major part of said trustees that they would give to the said Mr Conkling and Robert Dayton full order & power

Book 4, page 42 .- According to Ajornment they Met one the 13th of March and did order that Ebinezer the Colector shall have a warant to Colect and Receive the Town Rate for the year past and to take the same by distres where not payed.
they Also agreed and ordere that the Rate Made for the Building of Mr Hunttings hous should be devided Into five parts from Thomas Diamonds to Wainscot to Tho Diamond ; the rest Southward of Tho Chatfields & Capt Mulford to John Hedgis; Northward from thenc to Enock ffithings to Nathll Talmage & James Diamond; from thenc to Amigansit to John Parsons and Make Return ther of to the trustees for the time being or their order for the use above said ; and did Ajorn Their Meeting to the 17th of this Instant March at 5 of the Clock in the afternoone.
According to their Ajornment they Met the said 17th and did order that Simon Hilliar shall have power to Colect and Reseive those severall somes due to him for keeping sheep at severall times and years past of and from those severall per- sons that remain Justly Indebted to him on that Account and to use all Lawfull Means for procuring or Colecting the same.
