Book 4 page 16 .- By ye appointment of ye Trustees of this towne ye Generall line for ye plaine fence is laid is laid out & divided to every man according to his allotment & Proportion of land yt hee hath within ye Precincts of ye same And it is therefore ordered by ye Trustees of the ffreeholders & Comonaltie of this Towne of Easthampton afore said That every man yt hath Interest in the same doe get Procure & set upp a good sufficient fence for secureingye Plaines against Trespass of cattell every man according to his Proportion of fence yt doth belong to him as it is now laid out every mans fence being stackte out at each corner with ye first Two let- ters of his name uppon the Stakes & who ever they are yt shall neclect ye performance of ye setting upp of ye fence yt doth belong to him or them & yt to be suficient & strong for ye secureing of ye plaine from damage & loss & yt betwene this & ye last of this instant month of March & yt uppon ye penaltie of Paying downe 2s & 6d a pole in currant money of this province who ever they are yt neclect ye performance of ye same according to the prefixt time.

Mr Leislie by his agent have bought of Henry Ludlam of Southhampton 3 gray horses Two gelding & one stone horse one of them 7 yere old & ye other 5 yere old & ye stone horse is 4 yere old ye care mark is a litle slit partly cross ye left eare on ye hinder part of it & ye geldings eare mark is a hapeny on each side of the right eares & a L on ye hinder part of the left ear the Brand is a floure deluce on ye nere shoulder these were entered on ye Records in Easthampton May 1 ye 1688.

Book F, 57 .- Samuell Fithian have sould to Mr Henry Kinsing of Salem one dark Browne horse of 4 yere ould with a starr in ye forehead marked with a hapeny on ye fore side of each eare.


Book 4, page S .- It is ordered by the trustees of this town yt Whatsoever hors or hors kind shall be found Baiting (from this time forwards untill farther order) any where or at any time : within This town Gennerall feeld and not sufficiently tyed or tedered It shall be lawfull for any one to pound the same.


Also if any oxen or Cowse or Cowe Kind be found Baiting at any time within the sd Gennerall feeld till farther order from ye sd trustees it shall lawefull for any one to pound the same : and any that shall be so pounded being found baiting as Above sd the owner thereof shall pay what Dammages shall Apeer to be don there by; and one shilling pr head to he that shall pound the same also two shillings & six pence in Cur- rant Marchantable pay to the useof the proprietors of sd Corn or Gennerall feeld June ye 7th 16SS.

Book 4, Page S .- It Is ordered by the trustees of this town that whosoever shall mow any where within the gennerall feeld upon the high waies or any grasc that lyes in Common within the sd feeld belonging to this town or any part thereof shall pay as a fine for the use of this town : the summ of thirty shillings in Currant Marchantable pay till such time as they have procured Liberty of the sd trustees by purchasing the same which Is to be sould to the highest bidder on the nineth day of July next Insueing the date hear of at an houre and half by the Sonn In the after noone by Jeremiah Conck- ing & Robeit Daughton trustees.


Also it is ordered by ye sd trustees ye day & year above sd that whatsoever shall mow any grascupon muntanckut or any part there of till such time as there be farther order given by the sd trustees shall pay as A fine for the use of this tow : the sum thirty shillings In Currant Marchable pay
