Know all men by these prsents that wheras My Deceased father John Mulford did in the time of his Life give and bequeath unto his sonn in Law Benjamin Conkling by deed of gift by will and otherwise sundry parcels of Land and medow in the Town of East- hampton in the County of Soffolk : viz nine acres and a half of Land be it more or les neare the two mile hollow bounded by the Land of Robert Dayton westward with the Land of Thomas Osborn Eastward by the High ways and the beach north and Southward : and nine acres of wood Land bounded with the Land of John Stretton East and westwards the high- ways north and Southwards : A peice of salt meadow in the northwest meadow on the East side as it was bought of Thomas Tomson ; ten acres of Land at Ammagansit bounded Southerly by the Land of Jeremiah Miller northerly by the Land of Samuel Mulford west by the Land of Jeremiah Conkling and East by the highway : two Acres of Meadow upon the East side of the three mile harbor : five acres of Eand at lilly hill and three acres of Land bounded by the highway shat Leads to Indian well to the Southwards : the Land of John Stretton westward; and the Land of Samuel parsons Eastwards : and one acre and half of Meadow : in Acabonick neck next to Samuel parsons northwards and Samuel brooks Southwards : and A fourth part of the Com- monage that doth or shall belong unto both his Alotments hear In the town bounds and also at Meantauk Excepting only in that peice of Land betwen the fort pond and the great pond. EASTHAMPTON May the 17th 1698 Book 4, page 117 .- Then at a Leagall Meetting of the Trustees of the freeholders and Commonalty of the town of Easthampton it was ordered (for the preventing of any per- sons from becoming Inhabitants within the said Township that are of Ill fame or likely to become Chargeable unto the said 'Township) that whosoever doe or shall : presume to en- tertayne any stranger within the township of Easthampton : to the Compleating one whole weekes Continuance there: after the said stranger be Leagally warned to depart out of the said township : he or they so entertayning the stranger as aforesaid shall pay as a fine to the reeleefe of the poore of the said town the sume of five shillings for each and every Weeke that any stranger shall find such entertainment as Aforesaid : provid the person or persons so entertayning him or them be Leagally warnd to refuse such entertainment :
