Book A, page 126 .- Whereas Josiah Hobart is to have Land on the Commons Layed out to him in Lieue of the last Division of Land that was Layd out In this Town as by the towns grant of a thirteen Acre alotment may Apeer this May therefore signifie that upon exchange of land with Samuell Mulford the hobart Doth Consent and agree that the said Samuell Mulford shall take up Nine acres & half of the said Land with which the said Hobart Is fully sattisfied for so much from Town & doth for him selfe & his Heires forever acknywledg it to belong unto him the said Samuell Mulford and to his Heires forever as his & their owne propper estate witnes his hand this 16th day of Aprill 1697.

Book A, page 1452 .- Artickles of agreement made and Concluded this 18th day of June in the yeare of our Lord one thousand six hundred Ninty and seven betwen the trustees of the free holders an Commonalty of the Town of Easthampton on behalfe of the said town of the one Party & Josiah Hobart of the same town of the other partie : as followeth :

RECORDS: TOWN OF EAST-HAMPTON.


It is agreed betwen both parties to these presents that the action that Is depending betwen the said parties about the land called Squires Lott shall from this time ceasc and is heer- by put to a finall end : each party Bearing their owne Charges.


2thy it Is agreed that the peece of Land Called Squires Lott shall be and Remain unto the said Josiah hobart and to his wife for and Dureing both and either of their Naturall Lives if they live not more then ten years after the date of these prsents : but if they or either of them Live more then ten yeares then they are to deliver up the said Land to the said town at the end and Expiation of the said ten yeares With With all fencing to the same belonging or any Waies Appetayning : alwais provided that notwithstanding this agreement If the said town shall at any time (Within the said terme of ten years) se cause to build a hous upon the said Land for the settlement of a Minister then they shall have two acres of It Measured out to them begining at the street street on which side of the Lott the town please and to take two thirds of the lott In breadth and so to Continue the same bredth up the Lott untill it Makes up Just two acres as affore- said.
