The Council resumed the consideration of the return of an elec- tion for Justices for the district of Easton and Forks townships, in the county of Northampton ; and thereupon it was
Ordered, That the same be declared void and set aside, and that a precept issue according to law, for holding a new election.
Upon consideration of the complaint against the late election of Justices of the Peace for the district of Bart and Colerain town- ships, in the county of Lancaster, it was
Ordered, That directions be given to Henry Slaymaker, William Boyd and Samuel Jones, Esquires, Justices of the Peace for the said county, or any two of them, to call before them Paul Ralston, John Baird and John Anderson, and receive their testimony con- cerning the said election; and that they transmit the said testi- mony, under their hands and seals, to this Council as soon as may be.
The following orders were drawn upon the Treasurer, vizt :
In favor of the Honorable David Espy, Esquire, for twenty-six pounds five shillings, in full for his attendance in the Council of Censors 'till the thirtieth of August, 1784, inclusively, to be paid according to resolution of Assembly of the twenty-second day of November, 1783.
In favor of Frederick Sneider, for the sum of forty-six pounds specie, in full for ninety-two days attendance as Doorkeeper to the Council of Censors, ending the thirty-first day of August, 1784, to be paid out of the last mentioned fund.
In favor of Frederick Sneider, for fifteen pounds twelve shillings, in full for his wages as Doorkeeper to this Board for the month of August, 1784, and cash paid for newspapers.

Resolved, That conformably to the resolution of Congress of the third day of November, and the fourth day of May last, certificates for final settlements which have been legally and bona fide trans- ferred by officers or soldiers to any other persons, ought to be de- livered by the agents to the individuals to whom they so helong.
Ordered, That they be forthwith delivered accordingly, upon ap- plication made by such individuals.
The return of an election of Justices for the district of Milford and Richland townships, in the county of Bucks, was read ; and thereupon,

Ordered, That Captain Joseph Stiles, Commissary of Military Stores, be directed to furnish twenty soldiers' tents and four horse- men's tents, to be lent to the United States, for the accommodation of the troops raised according to resolution of Congress dated the 3d of June last, to be returned to this State when called for.
The Comptroller General's report upon the account of Joseph Eager and others, for services as spies on the western frontiers, was read and approved, and an order was drawn upon the Treasurer in favor of Joseph Eager, Jeremiah Lochry, James McQuiston, John Leisure, Alex. Maxwell, and John Cooper, for thirty-one pounds ten shillings, in full of the said account.
Upon a recommendation in favor of John McMasters, convicted of keeping a tipling house in the county of Fayette, it was

Resolved, That an order be drawn in their favor for the sum of fifteen hundred pounds in specie, towards defraying the expence of removing or destroying the chevaux-de-frize in the river Delaware, according to resolution of Assembly of the twenty-fourth day of September, 1783, for which they are to account.
A letter from the Governor of the State of Virginia, inelosing entries made in the Virginia Land Office, of lands within the bounds of Pennsylvania, transmitted to this Board pursuant to their request, was read ; and

The Council took into consideration the several petitions for the offices of Prothonotary in the counties of Montgomery and Frank- lin, and thereupon proceeded to the appointment, and the ballots being taken, it appeared that Thomas Craig, Esquire, was duly cho- sen Prothonotary for the county of Montgomery, and Edward Craw- ford, junior, Esquire, was duly chosen Prothonotary of the county of Franklin, and they were commissioned accordingly.
An order was drawn on the Treasurer in favor of Jacob Musge- nung, for thirty-one pounds one shilling and three pence, State money, in full for principal and interest due upon his certificate for a horse furnished for public service, to be paid according to reso- lution of the General Assembly dated the eighth day of April, 1782.

The record of the conviction of Thomas Richardson of burglary, in the county of Washington, was read and considered ; upon which it was
Ordered, That execution of the sentence of the Court be made and done upon him, the said Thomas Richardson, on Saturday the second day of October next, between the hours of ten of the clock in the forenoon, and two of the clock in the afternoon of the same day, at the most proper and public place, within the said day.

John Lewis and John Claypole's accounts for writing done by . order of Council, the former amounting to thirty-seven pounds ten shillings, and the latter to two pounds ten shillings specie, were read and approved.

Ordered, That Thomas Craig, Esquire, be appointed and com- missioned to be Clerk of the Court of General Quarter Sessions of the Peace, Clerk of the Orphans' Court, and a Justice of the Coun- ty Court of Common Pleas, in and for the county of Montgomery.
Ordered, That Edward Crawford, junior, Esquire, be appointed and commissioned to be Clerk of the Court of General Quarter Sessions of the Peace, Clerk of the Orphans' Court, and a Justice of the County Court of Common Pleas, in and for the county of Franklin.
Thomas Craig and Edward Crawford, junior, Esquires, appeared in Council, and the oaths required by the Constitution of this State, to qualify them respectively for the execution of the several offices before mentioned, were administered to them in due form; and also the oaths required as aforesaid to qualify them respectively for the execution of the several offices of Register of Wills and Re- corder of Deeds, in and for the counties of Montgomery and Frank- lin.
An order was drawn on the Treasurer in favor of the Honorable John Boyd, Esquire, for the sum of one hundred pounds specie, for defraying the expences of the Commissioners appointed according to resolution of the seventh instant, on the Wioming business, for which the Commissioners are to account.
A pass was granted to James Parr, Michael Kimmell, and John Lauman, to go to Guyahoga, in the Indian country, and to return again.
A petition from John Jacobs, and others, containing a complaint against Caleb Davis, Esquire, Prothonotary of the county of Ches- ter, for receiving other and greater fees than is allowed by law, were read ; and thereupon,

Ordered, That directions be given to Joshua Anderson, Timothy Taylor, and Francis Murray, Esquires, Justices of the Peace for the said county, or any two of them, to call before them Nicholas Samsel, Philip Scheetz, Michael Smith, and Philip Trumbower, and receive their testimony concerning the said election ; and that they transmit the said testimony, under their hands and seals, to this Council, as soon as may be.
