Council taking into consideration " A supplement to the acts for raising an impost on goods, wares, and merchandize, imported, and for securing more effectually the revenues arising from the same," by which they are authorized to appoint a proper person to con- tract and agree for a suitable house or building on rent, suited to the accommodation of the several offices of the Collector of the Cus- toms, Naval Officer,- Collector of Tonnage, and Wardens of the Port.
Resolved, That Sharp Delany, Esquire, be the person so ap- pointed to contract for a house, agreeably to the supplement afore- said.
Council proceeded to the farther appointment of officers under the late act of Assembly of the fourth instant, when it appeared that Jobn Lukens, Esquire, was re-appointed Surveyor General; Fran- cis Johnston, Esquire, Receiver General ; and David Kennedy, Es- quire, Secretary of the Land Office, for the term of five years re- spectively, if not sooner removed agreeably to law.
The re-appointment of a Flour Trier, under the act aforesaid, was postponed untill to-morrow.

Joseph Wallace aforesaid, appointed a Deputy Surveyor to a new district, resigned that appointment; upon which Alexander McDowell, Esquire, of Carlisle, was named by the Surveyor Gene- ral as a proper person to succeed to the vacancy thus occasioned. Mr. McDowell was approved by Council.
Agreeably to the order of yesterday, Council this day proceeded to the appointment of an Inspector of Flour for the city and county of Philadelphia ; and the votes being taken, it appeared that James Read, Esquire, was elected, and a commission issued accordingly.
Alexander Hunter, Esquire, was appointed Collector of Excise for the county of Northumberland.
George Graff, Esquire, was appointed Collector of Excise for Northampton county.
John Christie, Esquire, was appointed Collector of Excise for the county of Chester.
Hugh Gardner, Esquire, was appointed Inspector of Flour for the county of Westmoreland.

An order was drawn upon the Treasurer in favor of Colonel John Bayard, for the sum of thirty-seven pounds specie, for the purpose of defraying the travelling expenses of the Commissioners provided by resolution of the General Assembly dated the eighth instant, appointed to proceed to Wioming.
On application of William Henry, Esquire, Lieutenant of the city and Liberties of Philadelphia, an order was drawn upon the Treasurer in his favor for the sum of one hundred and sixty pounds specie, for the purpose of discharging the incidental expences of the exercise of the city battalions, to be paid out of the militia fines arising from the said battalions; for which he is to account.
An order was drawn upon the Treasurer in favor of John Nich- olson, Esquire, for two hundred pounds specie, in full for one quarter's salary due to him as Comptroller General, and ending the twelfth instant.
The Comptroller General's report upon the account of James Duncan, as Clerk to him from the twenty-first of February to the sixth of April, 1785, was read and approved, and an order drawn in his favor for twenty-four pounds nine shillings and seven pence.
The case of Alexander Caracher, with its inclosures, was referred to the Comptroller General, with directions that he proceed to set- tle the account of the said Caracher, agreeably to law.

Sergeant, Esquire, be employed in behalf of this Commonwealth in the cause now depending between the children of Andrew Allen and the State; that all the papers in the possession of Council relating to the late election of Lancaster be transmitted to the Attorney General for his information ; and that an order be drawn upon the Treasurer in favor of William Bradford, jun'r, Esquire, for the sum of one hundred pounds spe- cie, in part of his salary as Attorney General, for which sum he is to account.

Resolved, That warrants issue for the execution of the said An- drew Le Blanc and Samuel Preston, agreeably to the sentence of the Court of Oyer and Terminer, on Saturday the seventh day of May next.
Ordered, That from the representations which have been made in favor of Lewis Collinet, he be pardoned, on condition that he immediately depart this State to foreign parts beyond the sea, and do not return to either of the United States of America.

Ordered, That the certificates paid into the Treasurer by Chris- topher Stewart, Esquire, for a messuage, snuff mill, &ca., in the township of the Northern Liberties and county of Philadelphia, sold as late the estate of Jonathan Adams, an attainted traitor, but since decreed by the Supreme Court to have been the property of David Franks at the time of the attainder of the said Adams, be now returned to said Herman Courter, who had purchased the premisses from said Stewart.
On the application of John Story, Esquire, an additional Com- missioner to settle the accounts of the inhabitants of this State with the United States, an order was drawn in his favor for the sum of five hundred dollars, to enable him to discharge the duties of his appointment, for which sum he is to be accountable.

A draft of a letter to the Surveyor General, informing him of the numbers and several quantities of lands, as reported by the Comp- troller General this day, and requesting him to direct his deputies to first survey the lands the most remote from the north and western lines, was read and approved.

Ordered, That the execution of whatever may be the sentence of the Court of Quarter Sessions, upon the proceedings already had before them, against the said Garret and Abraham Fiscup, on the charge of having stolen a hog, be suspended until the farther or- ders of this Board be known.

An order was drawn upon the Treasurer in favor of John Nich- olson, Esquire, Comptroller General, for the sum of one hundred State money, for paying one-third of depreciation, according to act of Assembly dated the 13th April, 1782.
