61. Capt. Nathaniel, son of Judson, 2d, and Comfort (Keeney) Burton, was born in Derby, and perhaps married there, and afterwards settled in Trumbull. He was captain of the schooner Liberty, of Bridgeport, and died at the Island of Antigua, June 10, 1804, aged 38 years. His wife's name was Nancy, who after his death married Doct. Stephen Middlebrook of Trumbull.

1. CHAUNCY, Charles, the second President of Harvard College, was the emigrant ancestor of all who bear the name of Chauncey in the United States." He was the son of George Chauncy, of Newplace and Yardly-Bury in Hert- fordshire, England, and was baptized Nov. 5, 1592. He was graduated at Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1613, and where he received the degree of Master of Arts in 1617, and that of Bachelor of Divinity in 1624. After preaching some years at Ware, he left England the latter part of the year 1637, and arrived in Plymouth, Mass., a few days before the great earthquake, which occurred June 1, 1638.
He m. Catharine Eyre, dau, of Robert Eyre, Esq., Barrister at Law. He died in February, 1671.

He was ordained pastor at Stratford in the summer of 1666, where he m. Ist, Mary, dau. of Isaac Nichols, Jan. 8, 1667. She died , and he m. 2d, Sarah, dau. of - Hudson. He died Mar. 14, 1702-3.
