Article 1. VOTED UNANIMOUSLY : That the Town authorize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in antici- pation of the revenue of the financial year beginning Jan- uary 1, 1955, and to issue a note or notes therefor, paya -- ble within year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, of the General Laws.

Article 2. VOTED: That the Town raise and ap- propriate money to defray the General Town Expenses for the current year, as recommended by the Selectmen and the Heads of the various Departments.

COMMITTEES APPOINTED :
1. Seven Members to Draw up and present rules and regulations on Sewage and to serve on this commit- tee the following :
C. Lloyd Claff, Carol Wallace, William Schultz, Sid- ney Tucker, Martin E. Young, and two other citi- zens to be appointed by the Moderator.
2. Randolph Industrialist and Business Commission to study ways and means to encourage and facilitate new business and industry in the Town, to include Fabian Lionetti, The Planning Board, and six other citizens of the Town, to be chosen by the Moderator.
3. Committee of 5 citizens, to be appointed by the Moderator, to be formed to bring up to date the Town By-Laws and Zoning Laws, and this Com- mittee is to submit written report at the next An- nual Town Meeting.
4. Committee of 5 citizens to be appointed by the Moderator to study Off Street Parking, and report back to this Body at the next Annual Town Meet- ing.
5. Committee of 5 citizens to be appointed by the Moderator to study and report back at the next An- nual Town Meeting, as to what disposition the Town will take regarding the Parking Meters which are now stored in the basement of the Town Hall.
6. Combination Fire Station - Police Station - Town Hall Committee to be appointed by the Moderator. and report back their findings at the next Annual Town Meeting.
7. VOTED: That the Moderator be instructed to ap- point any Committees that he sees fit.

VOTED: To disband at this time all standing Com- mittees with the exception of Finance Committee, School Planning, and Building Committee and the Combination Fire and Police Station Committee.
VOTED: That the Town accept a donation of $250.00 from the Claff Charitable Foundation, Inc., for the purpose of purchasing Books under the di- rection of the Superintendent of Schools, for the new Devine School Library.
Article 6. VOTED: That the Town authorize the Water Commissioners to appoint one of their members to another office or position under their control, and fix the salary of such person in accordance with the provi- sions of Chapter 36, Acts of 1929.
Article 7. VOTED : That the Town raise and appro- priate $35.00 for the maintenance and lighting of the clock in the tower of the First Congregational Church.
Article 8. VOTED : That the Town raise and appro- priate $35.00 for the maintenance and lighting of the clock in the tower of the First Baptist Church.
Article 9. VOTED: That the Town raise and ap- propriate the sum of $2,170.00 for the maintenance and upkeep of the Town Hall, as petitioned for by the Trust- ees of the Stetson School Fund.
Article 10. VOTED : That the Town accept the pro- posed Acts of permissive Legislation (Law Bills 1892 and 2444) together with such modification as enacted by the General Court, this acceptance to become effective upon enactment, and that the sum of $1,500,000.00 be appro- priated for the purpose of constructing and operating a system of sanitary sewers in accordance with a modified engineering plan of Camp, Dresser and Mckee, to meet said appropriation the sum of $5,000.00 be transferred from the Excess and Deficiency Account and that the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be and is

hereby authorized to borrow the sum of $1,495,000.00 un der authority of Chapter 44 of the General Laws and to issue Bonds or Notes of the Town therefor and provide for the payment of the said loan in not more than twenty years and that the operation and maintenance charges, Metropolitan District Commission charges and one-fourth of the capital charges be levied against abutting property owners as Betterment Assessments or Sewer Rental Char- ges, which may be paid within a period of time of up to twenty years.

Article 11. VOTED: That the Town transfer the sum of $80,000.00 from the Excess and Deficiency Ac- count for the purpose of constructing, furnishing and equipping, with site development a new fire station located on land owned by the Town of Randolph on the southerly side of Memorial Drive adjacent to the Turner Free Library and the land set aside for a War Memorial for the Veterans of All Wars.
VOTED: That this Body adopt the following Reso- lution :
Whereas we consider that on last Saturday evening, April 2, 1955, The Town suffered a great loss in the person of one of its Board of Selectmen, Mr. John M. Sullivan, and whereas this Annual 1955 Town Meet- ing is still in session, so therefor be it resolved that This Town Meeting by a standing vote adopt in unanimous form by all citizens present this resolu- tion in deep and profound respect and be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be inscribed on a suitable parchment by the Town Clerk and be delivered in person by the Moderator to Mrs. Sullivan and family.

Article 12. VOTED: That this matter be referred to the Board of Health for action.
Article 13. VOTED : No action.
Article 14. VOTED: That the Town raise and ap- propriate the sum of $20,000.00 to recondition and im- prove and lay out the High School Athletic Field.
Article 15. VOTED : No action.
Article 16. VOTED: That the Town appoint four (4) additional fire fighters and that the sum of $11,- 060.00 be raised and appropriated therefor.
Article 17. VOTED: Unanimously, That the Town amend the By-Laws so as to provide an average weekly tour of duty, not exceeding fifty-six (56) hours in any one year, for the permanent members of the uniformed firefighting force of the Town of Randolph, in conform- ance with the provisions of Sections 42 and 56 of Chapter 48 of the Massachusetts Annotated Laws.
Article 18. VOTED: That the Town raise and ap- propriate the sum of $7,972.00 for the salary of four addi- tional police officers and that $880.00 be raised and ap- propriated for equipment for additional officers, a total of $8,852.00.

Holbrook) for the development of a well to be used as an auxiliary water supply for the Town of Randolph and Holbrook. This sum is also to be used for the taking of necessary land together with the purchase of necessary pumps, motors, controls, meter, pump house, power con- nections and piping.
Article 22. VOTED: That the Town transfer the sum of $2,000.00 from the E. & D. Account, for the pur- pose of reconstruction of two existing tennis courts on the High School Grounds: This money to be spent under the jurisdiction of the School Committee and Mrs. Dorothy Becker.
Article 23. VOTED: That the Town accept Section 65 of Chapter 44 of the General Laws which provide for the payment of vacation pay in advance of the regular vacation.
Article 24. VOTED: That this Article be referred back to the Board of Health to revoke or reissue any license when it is due.
Article 25. VOTED: That the Town raise and ap- propriate the sum of $300.00 for the installation of a new underground conduit service for St. Bernadette's Church, which was damaged during the installation of drainage on Old Street.
