Together with all right, title and in- terest of Seller of, in and to any land lying in the bed of any street in front of or adjoining said premises to the center line thereof. Pursuant to a Warrant issued by the Selectmen and signed on ninth day of February, A. D. 1959, duly posted by Patrick T. McDonnell, Constable, the voters of Ran- dolph assembled on the second day of March, 1959 in Randolph High School for Precincts 1 and 2, in the Lyons School for Precincts 3 and in Devine School for Precinct 4.


The election paraphernalia was given by the Town Clerk to the Wardens of Precinct 1, Precinct 2, Precinct 3 and Precinct 4 and receipts taken therefor.


The polls were opened for the reception of ballots at 8:00 o'clock A. M.

ANNUAL TOWN MEETING March 16, 1959


Pursuant to a Warrant issued by the Board of Sel- ectmen and dated the twentieth day of February, 1959 A. D., duly posted by Patrick T. McDonnell, Constable. the citizens of Randolph assembled at the Randolph High School Auditorium, Memorial Parkway, in Randolph on the sixteenth day of March, 1959.


Moderator Carr called the meeting to order at 8:00 P. M. Finance Committee Chairman Courtney moved ad- journment until 8:15 P. M. VOTED.


Moderator Carr reconvened meeting at 8:15 P. M. Newly elected Town Meeting members were sworn in by Moderator Carr. Entire audience stood for a minute of silence in memory of departed. The meeting opened with a brief non-sectarian prayer.


Town Clerk Clark read return of service for War- rant. Moderator called attention to the members of Ran- dolph High School Senior Class seated in the rear of the hall and welcomed them and all others to the meeting.

Article 1. To hear and act on the report of any com- mittee and choose any Committee the Town may think proper.


Article 1. Sewer Commissioner Chairman Carlino made his report.


Chairman of School Building and Planning Commit- tee Beatty made his report.


Chairman of Finance Committee Courtney made his report.


Mr. Hoey, member of Personnel Board, reported in the absence of Chairman Murray, ill at home in bed.


All reports accepted as read.


Selectman Kiley moved a committee be appointed to look into the possibility of establishing a Town owned Municipal lighting plant; committee to be composed of Town Engineer and four other citizens. Motion CARRIED.


Article 2. To hear and act on reports of Town Offi- cers.

Article 3. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds the sum of $374.04 to pay an unpaid bill for a previous year as peti- tioned for by the Board of Selectmen.

Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $35.00 for the maintenance and lighting of the clock in the tower of the First Congrega- tional Church as petitioned for by the Board of Selectmen.

WATER DEPARTMENT


Article 6. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $7000 for the purchase of water meters, as petitioned for by the Water Commissioners and the Town Manager,

To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Board of Water Commissioners to install a 6 inch water main, with necessary gates and fittings, on Rockefeller Street from Gould Street to existing end, a distance of 375 feet and raise and appropriate money therefor, as petitioned for by the Board of Water Commissioners.

To see if the Town will vote to take by eminent domain for the installation, servicing and repair of water lines, an easement of the following unaccepted street or way so called; Gould Street, from Morgan Street to Rockefeller Street, and raise and appropriate money therefor, as petitioned for by the Board of Water Com- missioners.

Article 11. VOTED UNANIMOUSLY that the sum of $4,800 be transferred from the E & D Account to install a 6 inch Water main, with necessary gates and fittings, on Harriet Street (north) from Pond Street, a distance of 1050 feet.


Article 12. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Board of Water Commissioners to install a 6 inch water main, with necessary gates and fittings, on High Street from Edwin Street to Eugenia Street, a distance of 425 feet and raise and appropriate money therefor, as petitioned for by the Board of Water Commissioners.

Article 13. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Board of Water Commissioners to extend the present 6 inch main on Hall Street a distance of 650 feet, with necessary gates and fittings, and raise and appropriate money therefor, as petitioned for by the Board of Water Commissioners.

Article 14. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Board of Water Commissioners to install a 6 inch water main, with necessary gates and fittings, on Stough- ton Street, between existing dead ends, a distance of 275 feet, and raise and appropriate money therefor, as peti- tioned for by the Board of Water Commissioners.

To see if the Town will vote to approp- riate sufficient funds to tie-in the Town of Randalph water system with the MDC Water System before the completion of the Fall River Expressway and 128 Route Junction is completed by the State of Massachusetts as petitioned for by Paul V. Scally and others.

Article 16. To see if the Town will appropriate sufficient funds to install adequate facilities to insure Randolph receiving their full one-third share of available water in the reservoir, as petitioned for by Paul V. Scally and others.

ARTICLE 19. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $12,000.00 to improve surface drainage, as petitioned for by Town Manager and others.


Article 19. VOTED UNANIMOUSLY that the sum of $14,000.00 be transferred from the E & D Account to improve surface drainage.


Article 20. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or borrow the sum of $10,000.00 for drainage work on Mary Lee Brook under Chapter 91. The Town's share of expense under this article will be $10,000.00, as petitioned for by the Board of Selectmen and the Town Manager.


Article 20. VOTED UNANIMOUSLY that the sum of $10,000.00 be raised and appropriated for drainage work on Mary Lee Brook under Chapter 91.


Article 21. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to install a drainage system on Clark Street from Bartlett Road to Porter St., as peti- tioned for by Herbert E. Murray and others.

Article 22. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to continue the Old Street main drain from the culvert on Mitchell St., at the prop- erty of Mr. Beggs to the catch basin on Stacy St., between house No. 82 and No. 86 as petitioned for by Walter Ochs and others.
