Article 90. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate $1,000.00 for the expense of the School Planning and Building Committee.


Article 91. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $8,000.00 for the construction of a parking area in the rear of the Town Hall and for the expense of the removal of the buildings on said area to the Public Works area, and erect thereat.


Article 92. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to construct curbing on the north side of Diauto Drive for a distance of approx- imately 300 ft.


Article 93. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $1,500.00 for the removal of the present No. 1 Fire Station and for the rebuilding and re- pair of the lockup.


Article 94. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Board of Selectmen to purchase or take by eminent domain the land adjacent to the Tower Hill School for School purposes, described as follows: Approximately 3.75 acres owned by Ralph and Emily Marshall and to raise and appropriate money therefor or take any other action thereto.


Article 95. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Board of Selectmen to purchase or take by eminent domain the land adjacent to the McNeil School for School purposes, described as follows: Land now or formerly owned by Bessie W. Robinson and Eva W. Elliott; approx- imately three (3) acres, land now or formerly owned by the Edison Electric Company of Boston containing two (2) acres, and to raise and appropriate money therefor, or take any other action thereto.


Article 96. To see if the Town will vote to accept as

a gift, the Corkin Building and land located on the east side of North Main Street from the Corkin Enterprises; said building to be known as the Corkin Free Clinic, and to raise and appropriate money for the expense and maintenance, thereof.


Article 97. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $50,000.00 to begin a ten-year Construction Plan to build into Class A Highways, on ac- cepted streets in each section of the Town, and to de- termine if the money shall be raised by taxation and bor- rowing under Chapter 44 of the General Laws, or be transferred from available funds or to take any other action relative thereto.


Article 98. To see if the Town will raise and ap- propriate the sum of $2,000.00 for the settlement of a claim of damages to the property of Norman Jacobsen or take any other action thereto.


Article 99. To see if the Town wili vote to accept Chapter 85, Section 11a, relative to the Licensing of Bicycles.


Article 100. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to be used for the con- tinuance of the completion of the High School Football Field, and to determine if the money shall be raised by taxation, by borrowing under Chapter 44 of the General Laws or by transfer from available funds or take any other action in relation thereto.


Article 101. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to be used for the con- struction of a leeching bed for the disposal of sewage at the McNeil School, and to determine if the money shall be raised by taxation, by borrowing under Chapter 44 of the General Laws or by transfer from available funds or take any other action in relation thereto.

Article 102. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purchase of a new forest fire truck for the Fire Department, old truck to be disposed of. And to determine if the money shall be raised by taxation, by borrowing under Chapter 44 of the General Laws, or by transfer from available funds, the money to be expended by the Town Manager, or take any other action in relation thereto.


Article 103. That the Town vote to raise and ap- propriate the sum of $20,000.00 for a Reserve Fund, and that to meet said appropriation the sum of $19,000.00 be appropriated from the Overlay Reserve Fund and that the sum of $1,000.00 be raised in the tax levy of the cur- rent year.


Article 104. To see if the Town will vote to accept Chapter 297 of the General Laws, an act setting up an Industrial Development Commission and the spending of monies thereof.


Article 105. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $1,500.00 for General Ex- penses of the Business and Industrial Development Com- mission and the spending of monies thereof.


Article 106. To see if the Town will vote to ap- point two (2) additional permanent Firefighters and to raise and appropriate a sum of money therefor, as re- quested by the Chief of the Fire Department, or take any other action in relation thereto.


Article 107. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of $4,000.00 (15 months) for mos- quito control in accordance with a bill now before the leg- islature entitled "An Act Creating a Mosquito Control Project in Norfolk County."


Article 108. To see if the Town will vote to accept the provisions of General Laws Chapter 48, Section 36a,

which reads as follows :- "Any town which has not ac- cepted chapter four hundred and eighty-seven of the acts of nineteen hundred and thirteen and shall accept this section by vote of the town at a town meeting, and has a call or part call fire force which now is or may hereafter be subject to chapter thirty-one, may, on the recommendation of the appointing officer of the fire de- partment, promote to membership in the regular or perma- nent force, without civil service examination and without any probationary period of service required under said chapter thirty-one and the rules made thereunder, any persons then in the call or part call fire force who have served as call men or part call men or substitute call men for five (5) or more successive years, and who are certi- fied to be competent physically for the duty by the town physician, if any, otherwise by a physician designated therefore by said appointing officer. Appointments from the call force to the regular or permanent force shall be made by the appointing officer upon certification by the director of Civil service from the list of members of the call force of firemen, in accordance with the rules of the civil service commission, except that the basis of certifica- tion shall be the order of appointment to the call force, or, if not ascertainabie, the order of the respective rat- ings of such members obtained in the examination upon which the list of eligibles for appointment to such cail force was based. No person who has passed his fiftieth birthday shall be appointed from such a call force to such a regular or permanent force."


Article 109. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purchase of a Heavy Duty Power Shovel.


Article 110. To see what action the Town will take regarding the increasing of Building Permit Fees, new proposed fees as follows :

Article 111. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $4,000.00 to grade, loam. seed, and construct driveways and walks at the new fire station location on Memorial Drive.


Article 112. To see if the Town will raise and ap- propriate the sum of $15,000.00 to provide space on the second floor of the Town Hall for administrative purposes.


Article 113. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to purchase a sand screening plant.


Article 114. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $3,000.00 to be administered under the terms of Chapter 386, Acts of 1953, with the further provisions that a sum not to exceed $200.00 per thousand feet to be expended to make the ways passable.


Article 115. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to install a walking traffic light at the Street Intersection of North and Short. Street.


Article 116. To see if the Town will, in conjunction with the Town of Holbrook, purchase or take by eminent domain proceedings, a tract of land comprising about ten acres located at the easterly side of South Street, Hol- brook and supposed to be owned by Edward T. Dwyer Sand and Gravel Corporation, and Harold and Manuel Schivik and Lewis C. and Alfred Wright and Baird and McGuire, Inc., and purchase a pump or pumps with gaso- line auxiliary motors, erect a pump house and purchase

any other material and perform such other work as may be necessary to complete an installation for an auxiliary water system, and that the unexpended balance of the appropriation made under Article 21 of the Annual Town Meeting held on April 4, 1955, be appropriated and trans- ferred for the purpose of this Article, and that the Town ratify and confirm any and all acts or things done by the Water Commissioners in pursuance of the Vote taken under said Article 21 of the Annual Town Meeting held on April 4, 1955, or take any other action in relation thereto.


Article 117. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the mainetnance and upkeep of the Town Hall, as petitioned for by the Trus- tees of the Stetson School Fund.


Article 118. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of $35.00 for the maintenance and lighting of the clock in the tower of the First Baptists Church.


Article 119. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of $35 for the maintenance and lighting of the clock in the tower of the First Congregational Church.


Article 120. To se if the Town will authorize the Water Commissioners to appoint one of their members to another office or position under their control, and fix the salary of such person in accordance with the provi- sions of Chapter 36, Acts of 1929, or take any other ac- tion relative thereto.


Article 121. To hear and act on the report of any committee and choose any committee the Town may think proper.


Article 122. To hear and act on reports of Town Officers.

and appropriate money for unpaid bills of previous years of various departments.


Article 124. To see if the Town will vote to author- ize the Town Treasurer with the approval of the Select- men, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1956, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws.


Article 125. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate money to defray the General Town Ex -. penses for the current year, as recommended by the Se- lectmen and the Heads of the various Departments.


And you are directed to serve this Warrant by post- ing attested copies thereof at the Town Hall, at the Town Clerk's Office, at the Post Office and at six other public places in the Town, seven days at least, before day and hour of said meeting.


Hereof, fail not, and make return of this Warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk on or before the day and hour appointed for holding said meeting.
