Sister Plank is a welcome visitor to our congregation. We ask her to take our greetings to Bro. Plank.
Sister Maggie Luther will go this week to Chicago to attend Moody's Bible Institute and prepare herself for definite christian work. May great success attend her efforts.
Bro. Thomas McCormick will go to Hiram College in a few days. We are very proud of our young men and women who are making such heroie efforts for an education The success of Bro. Thomas is al- ready assured.
Bro. Stahl, who has been away from us with his family for some time, is now with us again. We are glad to see them and trust that they will find a cordial welcome from all our people. They live at 59 Wells streut.
Our ushers complain that the people do not follow them to the seats they assign. This is hardly just to the usher, and an act of discourtesy.

The music and literary circle is a new organization among us. Dr. W. D. Calvin is its president. Its purpose is to advance the musical and literary interests of the church. A grand entertainment will be given under its auspices October 7th, the proceeds of which will be applied toward our new organ.
This being the first issue of our paper we shall hardly be able to speak of all the things of interest but we trust if we continue its pub- fication that we shall be able to make it very newsy.
We shall continue the publication of the Announcement if you say so. We are not, however going to as- some any financial risks. If you want it be enough to stibsenbe for it, we shall be very glad to continne it, and shall try to have it intro. duced as second class matter, so that it may reach you on Saturday evening of each week.
Sister Devlin, who has been in ill Health all summer is still unable to be out very much. Our sisters should call to see her.
We shall begin a meeting the lat. ter part of October, with Victor W. Doiris, of Kentucky, as evangelist. Bro. Dorris is a man of great power as an evangelist, and if we all try we sh ill be sure to reap a rich har- vest We shall begin active prepar- ation -0011.
We fear that we are not always as careful to welcome strangers as we should be. We should try in every way to make them feel at home among us. Go to call on them. Greet them in a friendly manner at the church and make other, acquainted with them.
We are in condition to do much better service than we have ever done before. It only remains for us to act. Our new house is a means not an end. The active co- operation of every member of the church in all fines of effort is needed now as much as it ever was, if not more.

CONGREGATIONAL HYMN.
No. 204 in Hymnal.
I love to tell the story, of unseen things above;
Of Jesus ane This glory, of Jesus and His love.
I love to tell the story, because 1 know 'tis true;
It satisfies my longing as nothing else can do.
CHORUS. I love to the story; 'twill be my theme in glory,
To tell the old, old story of Jesus and his love.
I love to tell the story; more won- derful it seems
Than all the golden fancies of all our golden dreams.
I love to tell the story, it did so much for me,
And that is just the reason I tell it now to thee.
I love to tell the story; for those who know it best
Seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the rest.
And when in scenes of glory, I sing the new, new song Twill be the old, old story, that I have loved so long.

Bio. Frank Walker has been vis- iting among his friends and relatives the past week. Ile i always , wel- come guest among our people. ile will attend the conventions at In- dianapolis.
By reason of a slight oversight in making up the Announcement, it has not as yet been admitted as second-class matter. This can easily be corrected.
The Young People's Union of this city will hold a union meeting at our church Sunday evening. The subject to be discussed will be "Good Citenship." Do not fail to be present.
The ANNOUNCEMENT is a wel- come visitor to the homes of our people. You may extend the in- Quence of the church by giving copies to your friends.
The reception given by the olfi- cial board, although given on a rainy night, was well attended and very enjoyable to all present. We believe that a few such social gath- erings each year would greatly facilitate socability and acquaint- ance among us.
Prof. Adams and his wife were received into fellowship Wednes- day evening. The Professor is an old friend of the pastor and it is a great treat to have him associated with us in the work.
Onr advertisers all merit our pat- ronage. Call on them when you need anything in their line.

The great convention at Indian- apolis is over. It was a pleasure to see the earnest souls that came to gether to confer and receive in spiration.
Good reports came to ns from the house prayer meetings held last Tuesday evening, and the regular meeting Wednesday evening was well attended.
It is probable that a number of Angola people will be down to hear Bro. Dorris' first sermon. Quite a number of preachers in surrounding towns intend to visit us during the meetings.
We have been informed of the death of Grandma Hellings, who was the mother of Sister Karriger, and a member of our church for the last few years. She was baptized by Walter Scott in 1826 at the age of thirteen and was one of the best informed women on Bible themes we have ever met

We write these items while in Indianapolis, and while our minds are full of the great convention. News items, therefore are parce.
We received a great many con- gratulatory remarks for the An- noucement, from the preachers to whom we gave a copy at the con- vention.
No one can estimate the power of such a gathering as the one at Indianapolis just closed. Weare a great people, with unbounded pos- sibilities and equal responsibilities.
With our new Furnaces in, our house of worship is complete. We are proud of its beauty and happy in its conveniences. Let us strive to meet our obligations on it promptly.
We are all sad to hear of Sister Rhinesmith's death. While we knew of her ill health, we did not know that she was so near the end. She was a noble Christian woman, rich in good works. Her heroic efforts to plant the cause of prima tive Christianity in Fort Wayne will not soon be forgotten. Her name will live among us forever, because of what she has wrought. Our sympathy is extended to her brothers and other relatives. At this time we do not know just when the funeral will be held. Brother Carpenter will have charge.

Bro. Carpenter delighted his hear- ers last Lord's Day evening. We delight to honor one who has done so much for us.
It hardly seems possible that sis- ter Rhinesmith is dead. For so many years she has been so faithful and so large a factor in the develop- ment of this cause.
Bro. Dorris says ours is the pret- tiest auditorium he has ever seen. Thanks!
During the meeting the pastor will give his days largely to calling. Hle rejoices in the opportunity this Season affords him for that work.
We rejoice to know that sister Swayne is improving nicely atter her illness.
