ITEMS OF INTEREST TO ALL.

The Dedication Anniversary is only two weeks from tomorrow.

Are you making arrangements to assist in the special object of the day?

The statements sent out last week have met with unusual approval. Now do your part.

Do not forget the musical l'ues- day evening. h should be liberally patronized by all of our people. The choir deserves this recognition tor their faithful services.

We sincerely hope that our people read the Announcement. We try to say nothing but what is of primary importance to our work and lives. It is a splendid means of communica- tion between pastor and people when it is read, but if you fail to read it of course it loses all its value. If you have'nt paid for it this year do so at once as the printer must be paid.

The vacation season is at hand but let us remember our duty to Christ and his church first. Our vacations will be all the more enjoyable if we have done our part toward the Christ. Let everyone do his or her part.

It is certainly a cause for great re- joicing that there exists such perfect unity in the church, and especially in the official board. It is an omen of great good. We believe in the future of any church that is united in spirit and? purpose to do what is the wisest and best for the cause of the Master. Nothing is more encouraging to us now than this fact. God will bless the work of a company of disciples that thus pull together. Now let us pull, pull together and pull in the same direction and before the month closes we shall be greatly rejoiced because of victory. Let not one falter or wait. Let everyone be ready when the time comes and then shall we all be glad. Remember the time June 25th.

A QUESTION OF ECONOMY.

"Wait a moment outside, Maria, I've got to stop in here."

"You ought to have more regard for appearance, John, than to stop at a drug store on the way to church."

(Fiercely) -"It is'nt a question of appearance, Maria. It's a question of economy. I've got to buy a cigar or two and get some small change, or else throw this twenty-five cent piece in the contribution box. Do you think I'm a Jay Gould?"-Chicago Tribune.

A DREAM.

A poor working man told his wife on awakening one morning a cunous dream in which were coming toward him in order, four rats. The th tone was very fat and was followed by two lean rats, the rear rat being blind. The man was greatly perplexed as to what might follow, as it had been un- derstood that to dream of rats de. notes calamity. He appealed to his wite concerning this, but she, poor woman, could not help him. His son who had heard his father tell this story, volunteered to be the inter- preter. "The tat rat," he said, "Is the man who keeps the saloon you go to so often. The Jean rats are my mother and me; and the blind iat. father, is yoursch."- Fix.

OUR DECISION. Upon the very unanimous and urgent appeal of the board your pastor has decided in le- turn to the church atter a two months leave of absence beginning July 3rd, and remain until Oct. ist. Some- time between now and then he will announce definitely whether he will remain permanently or not. This de- cision was presented to the board at a called meeting Sunday evening and was accepted. In the meantime it is hoped that the members will rally as one man to meet the obligations now due. What will be the final decision of your pastor, we cannot now say, but we can say that the conduct of the church during the next three months will figure prominently in helping him to form a decision. During his absence it is the purpose of the board to secure a stated sup- ply and arrangements are now being made to that end.

It is confidently believed that this arrangement, under all the circum-

stances, is the best that could be made, at any rate it will give time for re- flection and for deliberation. May the Lord graciously guide us to a wise and prudent course.

OUR ANNIVERSARY.

June 25th is the day.

Eigliteen hundred dollars is the amount.

The success of the day depends up- on you.

It we fail now to do our duty it means more wony, more interest, and a greater ettort after a while.

Which would you rather have, that outlined above and a consequent continuance of the appeal for money or relief from it all by doing your part now?

Every effort will be made to make the day one of glad and happy fel- lowship. We know of a large num- ber who are now planning to make whatever sacrifice may be necessary to contribute to the success of the day.

Dear friends, do not understand that we make this appeal complain- ingly. We are profoundly grateful for the patience and the self-sacrifice of by far the greater number of our people. We congratulate you on the loyalty which you have manitested, and we urge this matter now only that a glorious consummation may reward your former etforts.

A LAST WORD.

Tomorrow is the day.

Are you prepared to do your part?

If not now prepared can you not arrange with some of your friends to help you.

Any failure on the part of our peo- ple tomorrow would be disheartening and disasterous as well.

The services tomorrow will be of unusual interest. The choir have ar- ranged special programs of music, and the sermons will be upon themes of vilal interest to all.

A beautiful day, good audiences and willing hearts, are what we need to make the Anniversary a glorious success. Of the first we are hopeful, of the others we have many assur- ances. Fill your own place in this program.

"Owe some one else, if necessary, rather than the church," should be the motto of every member under present circumstances. No one of us can afford to allow the day to pass without contributing liberaly to the cause thus presented.

SIGNS OF As we go to press there PROFUSE are many signs of prom- ise which we gladly record. Mrs. Short has sent $10.00 from her home in California. Others have sent en- couraging messages. One class in the Sunday School is raising money for our anniversary offering. One man who is hearing the heavy bur- den of this indebtedness with a tew others, has arranged to borrow at the bank enough money to finish paying his pledge. Quite a number of others are doubtless doing the same thing. A great many have promised to do their best. Bul all these taken to- gether will not suffice. Those who have not been personally solicited must help or we shall not reach the desired amount.

ENCOURAGE EACH We owe OTHER. something to each other in this enterprise. If one or a dozen or more, only do their part and the rest fail, the encouragement which ought to come to each one will be lost. We owe it to everyone who willingly does his or her part to do our own in testi- mony of the appreciation we feel.

We can make this a day of greal rejoicing or of sadness and disap- pointment. For a few to lag behind to see what others are going to do is unworthy and unbrotherly to say the least. Come, let us all join together and our united efforts will bring not only success bul joy as well.

Tomorrow will be a day of great rejoicing or of bitter disap- pointment. Which shall it be?

The pastor will deliver a short ser- mon at 10:45 on "The Present and Future of the Cause of Prim- itive Christianity in Ft. Wayne." At 7:45 a. m. it is expected that Bro. A. W. Place, of Butler Bi- ble College, will be present and it he is he will speak.

Special music will be a feature of both services.

Wednesday eve. Church Prayer Meet- ing. Subject: "Christianity and Education." ] Peter 1:5-9. Heb. V. 12-14. Friday. The C. W. B. M. will hold a meeting at the parsonage. A short program will be rendered and a light supper served. In the evening ice cream and cake will be served. It is desired that the members of the church so far as possible be present as the gathering is intended as a fare- well to the pastor and his fam- ily before they leave for the sum- mer .- MRS. HOBBS.

SUNDAY SCHOOL NOTES.

We ought to have a pank for the Sunday School,

One of the cardinal virtues in a Sunday School teacher or officer is punctuality .

About $14,00 was raised for Child- ren's Day besides the birthday box offerings, which are to be given to this tund. This is good but we should do very muen better next time.

Owe some one else, if necessary, rather than the church.

C. E. NOTES.

Jno. B. Wagner has accepted the presidency of the C. E. for the en- suing term.

Let us put vim and enthusiasm into our prayer meetings this summer. Make them short and spicy.

How about a wheel excursion tor Tuesday evening? We would like every one who has a bicycle or can ride one to join us in a short ride.

The C. E. Quarterlies for the next quarter are very attractive and contain many excellent suggestions tor work - ers. Several copies should be ordered.

Bro. C. II. Holverstott's oldest daughter is in very poor health. Let our young folks remember her.

Your pledge is due today.
