"Forsake not the assembling of yourselves together."

Tomorrow is the day appointed for worship. "Praise it comely."

Our auchences were not quite up to the average last Lord's Day. Let all be present tomorrow.

Tne departure of our boys for war was a scene never to be forgotten. They are brave boys and deserved the recognition given them. Let us hope that they will not need to see active service.

fit' should be counted a pleasure for every christian to assist to the extent of his or her ability in advancing the interests at the Redeemers Kingdom. Are you, my brother and sister, ac- quainted with this pleasure?

We are planning to make June 19th 1898, a red letter day in our history. It will be the first anniver- sary of our dedication and we shall endeavor to make it a memorable day in every way. Let every mem- ber pray for victory and work for it as well, and we will most assuradly gain it.

A PROPOSITION.

During the past three year pastor has vielded the interest of his salary to every other call that bis been made for money, until the mount due him at the present time is nearly $100. Having the interests of the church deeply at heart he now pio- poses to have the bilance of his building fund pledge, $182.50, credited un charged to the content expense fund. He also proposes to give to the content espare fund the ballance of what is due him except $150. This makes a direct gift to the church of about $250. He makes this generous offer on condition that the church raise for him during the month of May his full alary, wthich is $120, since there are five Sundays in the month, and in addition to this raise $50 of what is still due on the old account. H this is done he will agree to take 75 per cent. of the ice- ular collections during the months of June, July and August, which doubt- less means quite an additional saturi- tice on his part. The finance com- mittee has agreed to accept this prop- osition it possible, but cannot without the co-operation of the church, since it necessitates quite a large increase in the regular collections during the month of May in order to raise ine $170 for our pastor and pay the $40 or $50 additional expense tor :he month, for janitor, lights, fuel and organist, etc. Brethren, we appeal to you, may we not hope that you will cheerfully respond to this call and answer this reasonable request.
