The services at the church tomor- row are arranged for you. Do you intend being present ?
If the church services are at all im- portant to anyone, they are import- ant to every one. This includes you.
When a person begins to absent himselt or herself from the church services, unless necessarily hindered, it is clear evidence of weakening faith and declining love.
The prayer meeting last Wednes- day eve. was the best we have had for some time. It was not however, as well attended as it should have been.
The obligations of church mem- bership are voluntary. One can dis- charge them or not as he chooses, but a reckoning will be made some day, and then we shall all wish that we had performed our parts.
The And Society has been divided into two divisions for work and teas. Jefferson street is the dividing line.

Conditions of Pardon
Walter Seeth, a Scotchman, of faith : Presbyterian, came to this country and became interested in the most- ment of the Campbells and others.
He soon discovered and rylubited the central truth of The Christian Sy- tem-the truth that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God
His investigatous led him in ISE in New Lishon, Ohio, to present clearly the conditions of pardon as pre- sented m the Commission and as how preached by the Disciples of Christ.
The Commission is recorded in Matt. XXVIII 19-20. Mark XV1.15 16. Luke XXIV: 16-17 Jno. XX 21 23. It contains the following items; (1) Go, (3) preach, (3) belief, ch re- pentanee, (5) baptism, (f) salvatinh, (?) the Holy Spirit, (S) comlemmation to the unbelieving.
Pedo-Baptists arranged the Homs in the following order: (1) go, (3) baptize, (3) preach, (1) repent, (5) believe, (6) salvation, (O) the Holy Spirit.
Baptists in practice arrange the items as follows (1) Go, (2) preach, (3) repent, (1) belief. (5) salvation, iti) the Holy Spirit, G) baptism.
Mr. Scott saw that the book of Acts of Apostles is, in an important sehr. an exposition of the Commission. A careful study of this book re- sealed the fact that mall cases of conversion the order hurem first given was observed This then is the law of pardon. See Acts Il 1-RS. Vif: 1-12, 26-10; IX 10-19. X. 1-18.
The conditions of pardon to a person who has become a Christian, if he sins against God are: repentance und prayer. Acts XIL22.

It was also re- quested by motion that at some It- ture time, at the paston's dicres ion, the sermon be repeated.
We have not at any time felt that we sud anything on that decision that was not in entire accord with the teaching of the Word, but it is encouraging to feel that tho e who requested the sermon as well as ( thers who heard it feel the same way. Brethren, let us abound in this grace of giving also.

Wednesday evening is the evening for prayer and praise. How many observe it?
Remember the Lord's Day and help to make it a day of blessing to yourself and others.
June 19th is to be observed as the first anniversary of our dedication. Let us make it a service of great joy and profit. By that time one-half of all our pledges will be due. Let us make ready to pay all that is due and as much more as possible.
The way to make a church pros- perous and happy is for everyone in it to manifest a deep interest in all that is going on, to watch for oppor- tunities to do service, to speak en- couragingly of its prospects and to rejoice in its victories.
The pastor of the Central Chris- tian church in St. Louis not long since draped the pulpit in mourning, and when asked why he did it, he said that he was mourning for the mem- bers who were spiritually dead. Should we appoint a day for mourn- ing, in which class would you be, among those moruning or mourned?
CHURCH HISTORY SERIES No. 9
The evils of human Creeds.
Disciples have always opposed human authoritative creeds as tests of fellowship. A Campbell said. "By an authoritative human creed 18 meaut an abstract of human opin- lons concerning the supposed car- dimal articles of Christian faith, which summary is made a bond of union or term of communion."
They do not object to publishing what they understand to be the teaching of Holy Scripture on any subject of faith or duty, as a matter of informa- tion. Such statements should not be used as conditions of fellowship or terms of communion.
Human creeds are without Divine auth- outy. There is no command nor even any permission in The Word of God to have or to use them.
They crystallize the thought of an age and check inquiry. For any one to disregard them is to bring upon him the charge and condemnation of heresy.
Their tendency is to displace Chind and his Word. This is wrong. Matt. XVII. 5 XXVIII. 18. Col. 1 18. Heb XI1 2.
Human authoritative creus are not Ill harmony with the following Il 'l'im. 1 13 Jnde 1:3. II Thess. 11 15. Matt. XVII:5.
During the first two hundred years of the church's history there were no uninspired statements of belief pos- essing authority, and this was the most harmonious, united. prosper- ons and happy period of the church. Human creeds are unfavorable to the development of spiritualty They detract from the honor that belongs to the Holy Spirit by assuming to be plainer and more intelligable than the Bible. Gal. I-6-9.
It has been said in their defence that they are needed to keep heretics and other evil people out of the church. But there were hereties and evil men in the church in the days of the apostles and they did not need any other rule than the Gospel. Neither do we.

Remember June 19th will be Anni- versary day.
One-half of all our pledges will be due June 19th. We must raise a large sum of money.
If there are one hundred people at the prayer meeting next Wednesday evening the success of our anniversary service is assured.
The Sunday evening services are sure to be more inspiring from now on. The music will be something of a feature every Sunday evening.
One week from tomorrow is children's day. The exercises will probably be given in the evening and will be very fine. The school should raise a good collection for missions.
We take our offering immediately ollowing the Lord's Supper because t seems the most appropriate time. At the Supper we are led to think of onr Lord's great sacrifice for us, and it is fitting that we should give of our substance when this is fresh in our minds. Taking the offering is one of the most spiritual part of the service.
