THE COMMUNION During the SERVICE. week we have been read- ing a little book by N. J. Aylsworth, on "Frequency of the Lord's Supper," and we have found it so helpful and suggestive that we hasten to commend it to others. In this day of hurry and rush there is perhaps no danger so imminent as the abandonment of soud culture. We somehow feel that we have'nt time for quiet meditation so necessary to really deep spiritual im- pressions. The popular demand is tor the entertaining and spectacular in the house of God, instead of the things which promote real worship and deep reverance. This book deals with the problem of worship, and very clearly points out the relation which a frequent observance of the Lord's Supper has to it. We hope that many of our people will read the book.
Round table next Wednesday evening.
ATTENTION PLEASE.
Have you paid your subscription for the Announcement.
After this week the Announcement will be sent only to those who have paid.
The surest way to receive credit tor Announcement subscription is to en- close your money in a contribution envelope and mark it "for Announce- ment."
The largest and one of the best prayer meetings of this fall was held at the church last Wednesday even- ing. A round table for suggestions will be held next Wednesday evening. Don't fail to be present.
The Sunday School seems to be in a fair way to grow. Several of the classes have been divided and some new teachers have been appointed. Josie Carter will teach the young peoples class, Prot. Price will teach the high school boys. Bro. Gloss will have charge of a vers enterpus- ing class of boys in the primary de- partment, and others are yet to be heard from. Let us have a rally all along the line.
The Sunday evening services are becoming more interesting every week. The audience was very good last Sun- day evening and quite a large num- ber stayed to the atter meeting. We hope to make this a service ot much greater power than it ever has been. Will you help us by your presence and prayers?

PROPHETS OF EVIL ..
There seems to be an impression abroad that the churches financial con- dition is almost, if not quite hopeless, and as usual there are not wanting prophets of evil who in private are predicting failure. In view of this it
should be said that whole conditions de not nealy son favorable a Ac might desne, they nic tại hôm bem: hopeless. The total amount of In. debtedness is less than at any time since dedication, and a less amount is needed to satisfy, temporants, om creditors than heretonde. Five hun- dred dollars m cash would meet every pressing demand between now and the holidays. This amount, and more, is due from parties who mitde pledges on dedication das and me abundantly able to pay them it they would. These of all persons should be the last to predict failure, for when they have done as they have promed, and as others in great number have done, the possibilities of failure will be greatly diminished. It there is any immediate disaster it must be And directly at the door of those who have promised and are able to pay but do not.
It should be further stated that a plan has been formulated and will soon be announced by which we hope to raise by voluntary contributions from a great number of our people. at one time a sufficient amount in cash of its equivalent to greatly reduce the sum of our indebtedness. The church has voted to raise $2, 500over and above all pledges and we expect to give the church an opportunity to carry out its own resolution. We believe it can and will be done. Indeed nothing but a determined resistance to every entreaty can deteat this purpose. In view of this our prospects ate brighter than they have ever been. Cease te. pining, friends, and do your duty.
Bring your friends to church next Sunday evening.

THE DAY IS AT HAND.
Winter is here. The snow is fall. ing fast.
How many must say, "the harvest is past, the summer is ended and 1 am not saved."
But the goodness of God does not change with the seasons. "His mercy endureth forever."
The season for a harvest of souls is at hand. A great many churches are in the midst of evangelistic meet- ings.
We loo are planning for an on- ward movement. We are hoping that by the end of the present month we shall be able to greatly reduce our church debt and thus be mn better condition for evangelistic effort which ought to follow very closely.
Beloved, are you thinking about it? The day is at hand when we must make one grand, united and determined effort, or suffer serious consequences. Let not one talter, nor
let us be afraid. We are nearer to the victory than ever if we do our duty now. Arise, let us be men worthy of so great at work.
A KIND REMEMBERANCE.
On Saturday evening the pastor and his wife were surprised by the assembling of a large number of the members of the church to remind them ot then ninth wedding anni- versary. The weather was very dis- agreeable which prevented many from being present, but quite a number who were thus prevented have been dropping in since, to extend thei greetings and leave a token of their love and esteem. We will not at- tempt to enumerate the articles pie- sented but will say that all were use- ful and highly appreciated.
For this expression of good will we are profoundly grateful. The 1e- memberance of it will be pleasant in the years which are to come. May the Lord bless the givers as Hle does the recipients is our most earnest prayer.
THE ANNOUNCEMENT.
For Several reasons we find it in- advisable to limit the chculation of the Announcement to those who have paid, until after the end of the year when, unless a great many more of our people pay than have paid it will then be discontinued. Place the subscription price (25 cents) in a church envelope and mark it "For Announcement ."
If you owe on your building fund pledge pay something 10- morrow if possible, it is badly needed.
