To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Treasurer with the approval of the selectmen to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1943, and to issue a note or notes therefore, payable withone one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in ac- cordance with Chapter 44, Section 17, General Laws.
Article 6. To determine in what manner the taxes shall be collected for the ensuing year, also determine what percentage shall be allowed the Collector for the ensuing year.
Article 7. To see what compensation the Town will allow the members of the Fire Department for the ensuing year.
Article 8. To see if the Town will authorize the Collector to use all means in the collection of taxes as the Treasurer might if elected to that office.
Article 9. To see if the Town will authorize the Water and Sewerage Board to appoint one of it's members as Water Regis- trar.
Article 10. To see what compensation the Town will allow the Water Registrar for the ensuing year.
Article 11. To see if the Town will vote to appoint a com- mittee of five (5) and to authorize it to make arrangements and spend money appropriated under article 4 for the observance of Memorial Day.
Article 12. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate the sum of $300.00 for the betterment of Town De- fenses. (Petition)
Article 13. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money for the improvement of Chapter 90 Roads, said money to be used in conjunction with any money allotted by the State or County, or both, for this purpose, or take any action in relation thereto.

Article 16. To see if the Town will vote to accept the follow- ing named sums as Perpetual Trust Funds for the care of lots in the Vine Lake Cemetery, the interest thereof or as may be necessary to be used for said care, viz:

To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate or transfer from available funds in the Treasury, a sum of money for the purchase of War Bonds or other bonds that are legal investments for savings banks, in order to establish a post- war rehabilitation fund, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 3, Acts of 1943.
Article 19. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the School Board to dispose of all possible standard typewriters to the Army and Navy, or do or act anything in relation thereto.
· Article 20. To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $4.90 from the Hurricane Damage balance to the Excess & Deficiency Fund.
Article 21. To hear and act on the report of the School Building Committee appointed under Article 7 at the Special Town Meeting of May 14, 1940, to have full charge of the con- struction of a School Building or do or act anything in relation thereto.
Article 22. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of $2,500.00 for the maintenance of Vine Lake Cemetery; also to transfer the sum of $270.00 from the Sale of Cemetery Lots Fund for the purpose of developing the new part of the cemetery.

ANNUAL LIBRARY REPORT FOR 1943
To the Citizens of the Town of Medfield:
The Medfield Library, during 1943, has had a circulation of 13,300 volumes among approximately 1,000 cardholders.
In 1943 the following volumes were purchased:
'58 volumes of adult fiction 118 volumes of adult non-fiction 78 volumes of juvenile fiction 30 volumes of juvenile non-fiction
The usual number of periodicals were continued. A large number of technical books were purchased.
The Board of Trustees wish to extend their thanks to the following donors:
Mr. Stewart Bramman, Mrs. Emery, The Garden Club, Mrs. J. H. Henderson, the Misses Edith and Grace Jewell, Mrs. E. Lom- bard, Mr. R. W. Lyman, Mrs. Russella McGah, Constance Mann, Margaret Mahoney, Miss A. M. Paul, Mrs. Myron Smith, Mrs. Eva Sullivan, the Tea and Coffee Trade Journal, Master Melvin Tuttle, Mr. Thomas Whiteside, Glenna Woodbine, The Hannah Adams Club, Mrs. Florence Yeo and Mr. John Yeo.
The Rev. Eric Alton Ayer has donated a yearly subscription of the "Jack and Jill" Magazine in memory of his son.
For 1943 the Librarians have had charge of the State Certifi- cate Reading List for Grade and High School pupils. They are pleased to report that 18 students have been awarded the Five Book State Reading Certificate and three students have received the Twenty Book State Reading Certificate.
Fines collected for 1943-$173.94.
The lighting system of the Library has been improved and numerous building repairs have been made.
Any suggestion or constructive criticism from the towns- people and school authorities will be welcomed.

SEWER DEPARTMENT
To the Honorable Board of Selectmen:
Gentlemen:
We herewith submit our report for the Sewer Department for the year ending December 31, 1943.
The beds have been kept in good condition by being raked and cleaned as required and also the collecting well has been cleaned once a week.
In order to keep the beds up to the standard required by the State Board of Health, we ask for an appropriation of $1,000.00 for the year 1944.

REPORT OF THE WATER DEPARTMENT

Gentlemen:
We have installed two new water services this year.
Two hydrants were broken by automobiles. One has been re- paired and we are waiting for parts to come from the factory before the other one can be repaired.
For general maintenance of the system we are asking for an appropriation of $7,200.00 for the year 1944.
