By virtue of this warrant, I have notified and warned the inhabitants of the Town of Medfield, qualified to vote in elections, to meet at the time and for the purpose named, by posting attested copies of said warrant in not less than five public places in the Town at least seven days before the time of holding the meeting.

ANNUAL TOWN MEETING March 3, 1947
The meeting was opened at 6:00 A. M. by the Moderator and after reading the warrant the polls were declared open. The Ballot Box had been examined and found in good working order, instructions to voters posted and specimen ballots dis- played at the entrance and within the voting place. The follow- ing persons were sworn in and assigned to their duties: Laura Atherton and Beatrice Morgan distributing ballots, Susan Kennedy, Margaret Kennedy, Beatrice Bangs, Mildred Lom- bard, Helen Kennedy, Eugene Munson, Edward Sweeney and William Owens as tellers. Abbie Sheahan and Charlotte Kelly checked at the ballot box and Coleman J. Hogan was in charge of the ballot box.
The ballots were counted in open meeting and after tabu- lation the results were announced as follows:

Article 6. Voted to authorize the Treasurer with the ap- proval of the Selectmen to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1947, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Chapter 44, Section 17, General Laws.
Article 7. Voted that the taxes shall be paid in two equal payments, July 1, 1947 and October 1, 1947 and Collector shall receive 1% of the 1947 taxes.
Article 8. Voted that the members of the Fire Depart- ment be paid $20.75 per year and $1.00 per hour while working at fires.
Article 9. Voted to authorize the Collector to use all means in the collection of taxes as the Treasurer might if elected to that office.

Article 10. Voted to authorize the Board of Selectmen to appoint one of its members as Clerk of the Highway De- partment.
Article 11. Voted that the Clerk of the Highway Depart- ment shall receive $25.00 per week as compensation.
Article 12. Voted to raise and appropriate an additional sum of $2,500.00 for the completion of construction of Hospital Road providing the State contributes an additional $17,000.00 and the County an additional $,500.00 for this purpose.

Article 14. Voted to transfer the sum of $1,100.00 from the Road Machinery Fund to the Highway Machinery Operat- ing Account to defray expenses for the operation and mainte- nance of Highway Machinery.
Article 15. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $700.00 for the improvement of Chapter 90 Roads, said money to be used in conjunction with any money allotted by the State or County or both, for this purpose.
Article 16. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $900.00 for the purpose of installing an underground drainage system along Oak Street adjacent to the property of Mr. Ben- jamin Brock.
Article 17. Voted that this article be dismissed, wherein the construction of an asphalt sidewalk on the north side of Cottage Street was petitioned.
Article 18. Voted that this article be dismissed, wherein the construction of an asphalt sidewalk on the north side of West Main Street from the N.Y. N.H. & H. R.R. Co. to the stone bound on the property of Bertha K. Wilkins was petitioned.
Article 19. Voted that this article be dismissed, wherein the construction of an asphalt sidewalk on the West side of Vinald Road replacing the concrete walk was petitioned.
Article 20. Voted that this article be dismissed, wherein the construction of an asphalt sidewalk on the west side of the road connecting Mitchell and Cottage Streets was petitioned.
Article 21. Voted that this article be dismissed, wherein the sum of $460.00 was asked for the purpose of building new steps at the entrance of the Town Hall.

Article 29. Voted that the American Legion shall appoint a committee of five (5) who are authorized to make arrange- ments to spend money appropriated under Article 4 for the observance of Memorial Day.
Article 30. Voted to accept the report of the committee as progress. (Said report informed the voters that for ap- proximately $2,000.00 per year a contract to collect garbage twice a week in summer and once a week in winter could be arranged).

(A) Voted that in addition to the original appro- priation of $5,054.00 for Street Lighting in Article 4, the sum of $25.00 be raised and appropriated for the installation on Frairy Street of one (1) street light between the Gilmore and Palumbo Estates and (1) street light between the Palumbo Estate and Dale Street.

TOWN WARRANT
COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS

To either of the Constables of the Town of Medfield, in said County, greeting:
In the name of the Commonwealth you are directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Medfield, qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall, in said Medfield on Monday the 14th day of April A.D. 1947 at 7:30 P. M. then and there to act on the following articles:
Article 1. To see if the Town will vote to accept a gift of about $2,000.00 (Two Thousand Dollars) from Ruth and Harry

Mamas of Medfield, in the form of alterations in the Town Hall, namely treating the hall to improve the acoustics and appearance by putting special sound padding on the walls and covering this over with a decorative rose-colored fabric material (all fireproof); putting up two partitions, one on each side of the hall near the stage with doorways, left side as an exit and right side as entrance to the Ladies Room. Putting up a partition across the entire rear of the hall in the balcony, covering all partitions with sound padding and fabric. Color scheme to be rose and maroon. Above alterations to become the property of the Town of Medfield, or do or act anything in relation thereto. (Petition).
Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to permit Ruth and Harry Mamas to put up a Marquee and false front on the front entrance to the Town Hall now used as the entrance to the movies. This Marquee and false front to be put up somewhat on the idea of the sketch and is to be of simple conservative design with the word "MEDFIELD" on the top. This sign will be illuminated at night in conjunction with re- movable letters which will be placed in the sign to announce the pictures playing or any other special event which might take place in the Town Hall. This sign, since removable, will remain the property of Ruth and Harry Mamas, or do or act anything in relation thereto.
Article 3. To see if the Town will vote to grant a five year lease to Ruth and Harry Mamas and/or their heirs and assigns, in accordance with their present agreement, on Chenery Hall which is used by them in presenting movies. Rental of the hall to continue as at present, or do or act anything in relation thereto. (Petition).
Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer from available funds in the Treasury the sum of $300.00 (Three Hundred Dollars) to paint the ceiling and dado in the Town Hall, the entire Ladies Room, entire front hall, the rear balcony ceiling, as soon as Ruth and Harry Mamas close for their repairs, provided these repairs are approved, and in the color recommended, suggested or desired by the Interior Decorator to tie in with the color scheme of the hall; this painting to be done after June 1, 1947 and before August 1, 1947, or do or act anything in relation thereto. (Petition).
Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to accept the following named sums as Perpetual Trust Funds for the care of Lots in the Vine Lake Cemetery, the interest thereof or as may be necessary to be used for said care, viz:
