ZILWAUKEE.
Zilwaukee is a lumber and salt manufac- turing village on the west bank of the Saginaw river, in Zilwaukee township, Saginaw county, 6 miles below Saginaw City and 9 south of Wenona. The Saginaw division of the M. C. R. R. passes through
it. It is in a low marshy section, the productions of which are hay, corn, oats and potatoes. It contains 6 saw mills and 5 salt blocks, also one or two hotels, 3 churches, Methodist, Lutheran and Catholic, and a good free school, in which English and German are taught. Population, 1,000,
