Civil war veteran 'and former pro. bete judge of Christian county, at his home in Sparta, says the Shan- non Herald. For some unkonwn reason Mr. Nelson has never had a hair cut, and wore his hair in braids thus attracting considerable atten- tion from persons whom he chanced to meet. Five members of the Drury fac- ulty and one of the Southwest Teach- era college were pallbearers. They were Professor Norman Freudenberger of Teachers college and the follow- ing from Drury: Dr. B. F. Finkel, Dr. L. E. Mendor. Dr. Arthur Wald. Dr. Roland Ncal'and Professor G. H. Ben- ton.
Following the service the body was taken to Greenlawn cernetery for burial under direction of the Alma Lohmeyer funeral home.
Drury college was closed' today in respect to the memory of Doctor Clark and classes will be resumed to- morrow morning.
Doctor Clark's classes have been continued this week under the direc- tlon of Misses Lois Wilks and Ellza- beth Taylor, who were hia assistants in the classical department. Authori- ties st the college are undecided as lo whom they will procure to take orer the leadership of the department.

CHARGES of second degree murder were filed against M. M. Clough. 67. prominent business man and Justice of peace at Conway. yesterday
afternoon at Lebanon a few hours after ne shot and killed John C. Brady. 70. Conway farmer and father orfour"small children.
The charges were flied by Victor Jettries. Laclede county prosecuting attorney. in W. H. Turner's justice of the peace court. Clough waived prelitatdiary bearing and was released on 45000 bond for trial during the Dext term of the Laclede county

1 ONE SHOT FIRED
The shooting occurred early yes- terday near the stockyards at Conway. The meu had been discussing the transaction and Clough, standing about six feet from Brady. drew . 38-calibre revolver and fired one shot. It entered Brady's heart. killing him Instantly.
Brady was said lust night to have been penniless and a permit to pay for his funeral services from Laclede county funds was approved yesterday afternoon. He is survived by his wife and four small children, the oldest a girl. 15. live In modest farm home near Conway. Funeral rangements are Incomplete.
