Funeral services will be held from the South Street Christian church. of which he was the oldest living elder at the time of his death. at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Tol- Jowed by interment in Hazelwood cemetery.

Mrs. Ferguson died in 1922. Sur- riving are three sons, Ernest. John R. and Charles A. Al of Springfield. and a daughter, Mrr. Robert Andres of Evansvil Ind.

ust hospital late Tuesday afternoon
as the result of injuries he received Sunday afternoon when struck by a freight train at Branson.
Oloyd was injured while lying asleep beside the tracks as the train. a special freight on the White river division of :::: Missouri Pacific. pulled toward a coal chute. His left arm was so badly mangled that It had w De aimpendien. Mind and shoulder was crushed.

It was a sorry liitle lina that came la thea but it graw. Mr. Harwood was also ona of the members of the' Ozark Land company which owned all the land on which' North Springfield was bollt. The road was then called the South- era Branch of the Atlantic and Pacific. The road never did make the Pacific coast but Mr. Har- wood did.
George W. Thompson in a Springfield pioneer, a member of a family that was active here when Charles F .. Harwood was In his prime. Mr. Thompson's father started the first foundry in the city. The firm was known as Holromb and Thompson and the plant was at the corner of Milli and Campbell. Later R. S. Eddy and James Abbott came into control of the property and ran it for many years. The foundry finally went out of business and the site is now used for other purposes. the buildings having been wrecked long ago.
