lie square of Hobart. 320 ft. each way. is unbroken by the smallest hillock, and the greater portion of the city is aimost as level. Around this square the principal business blocks have been erected. These are of a most substantial character. The streets

leading from the Plaza to the rail- ways have also been lined with stores and offices. While the residents have built both pretty and commodious homes out to the edge of the city. The soil in this section is as fertile, if not more so, than in the neighboring counties, and is especially adapted to cotton and corn. Wheat. oats and bar- ley are also successfully raised, and in fact every kind of cereal, vegetable or fruit that has been tested. yields most abundant!y. The protesting hills shelter the town from the cold blast of winter. Hobart has a bright future. and when as old as towns in Kay county are now, it will probably have made greater progress. There are three National Banks, with promise of a fourth. Several wholesale and a large number of affluent retail estab- lishments. A cotton oil mill, a cotton gin and corn mill and initiatory steps taken towards building a flouring mill and elevator. There are negotiations on foot for the establishment of an ice and electric plant. The price of real estate in town and vicinity averages well, and many inquiries are made for both farm and city properties. The Commercial is a good hotel. Tel .. W. T. Exp., U. S.
