AND WHEREAS Colonel (Michael) Myers hath represented to the Council that by an order of Brigadier General (Patrick) Campbell a part of the district of his regiment was annexed to Colonel (George) Doolittle's regiment with intent that a company should there be formed, and, thereupon, Asa Way was appointed captain, and John Sleep was appointed lieutenant in Colonel Doolittle's regi- ment; and further that the said order being inadvertently issued the said general with the approbation of the field officers hath ordered that the said district of Colonel Myers' should remain as it was, whereby the said captain and lieutenant have become unnec- essary: ORDERED, that their commissions be and they are hereby revoked.


His Excellency the Commander-in-chief on the report and recom- mendation of the adjutant general having thought proper to form a troop of horse in General (Patrick) Campbell's brigade of militia in the county of Herkimer from the regiments commanded by Lieu- tenant Colonels (Michael) Myers and (Jacob) Petrie, therefore, RESOLVED, that William B. On the report and recommendation of the adjutant general, his Excellency the Commander-in-chief has thought proper to divide the regiment commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin Wells, in the brigade of General (Othniel) Taylor, comprehending the counties of Ontario, Onondaga and Steuben into two regiments: the first of the said regiments to be bounded by No 8 to No 13 in the second range of Gorham and Phelps purchase and from No 7 to No 13 in the third range and from No 7 to No 13 in the fourth range of said purchase. Of this regiment Lieutenant Colonel Wells, together with all such of the officers as reside within the said bounds

His Excellency the Commander-in-chief, on the report and recom- mendation of the adjutant general, having thought proper to divide the battalion of militia in the county of Onondaga bounded west by the county of Ontario, south by the south bounds of the military lands, east by the east lines of the townships Dryden, Locke, Sem- pronius, Aurelius, Brutus, Cato, and the west bounds of Hannibal, and north by Lake Ontario, the division line between the said regi- ments to commence at Seneca Lake, and to run east between Romu- lus and Ovid to the Cayuga Lake crossing the same to the south bounds of the Cayuga reservation, then east along the reservation to the south east corner thereof, continuing east to the Owasco Lake, then up the lake south to the south west corner of Sempronius afore- said and along the south bounds to the south east corner thereof. CLINTON COUNTY.


Whereas it has been duly certified to the Council that Louis Marney, an ensign, in one of the companies in the regiment of militia in Clinton county, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel. (Melancton Lloyd) Woolsey, hath been convicted of petit larceny, Resolved, that the said commission of the said Louis Marney be and the same is hereby revoked.


Nathaniel Malleray, captain; David Ward, lieutenant; David Clemens, ensign-of a new company at Malleray's Bush.


Elijah Bishop, captain; Elijah Newell, lieutenant, of a new com- pany at Pleasant Vale and Bettsborough.


John Douglass, ensign, vice the said Louis Marney, dismissed.


His Excellency the Commander-in-chief, on the report and recom- mendation of the adjutant general, having thought proper that the half troop of horse heretofore instituted in Clinton county under the icommand of Lieutenant George Marsh should be increased to a complete troop whereby additional officers for the same become necessary, Resolved, that the said George Marsh be and he is hereby appointed captain; Cornet Wm Coe, first lieutenant; Seth Sherry, second lieutenant; and John Parker, cornet, of the said troop.
