Ry, in Grant county, 25 miles north of Lancaster, the judicial seat, 166 west of Milwaukee, 70 from Madison, and 25 from Prairie du Chien. The city is rapidly growing in wealth and import- ance, and contains Baptist, Catholic, Con- gregational and Methodist churches, a graded public school, stave, heading and plow factories, flouring mills, a bank, a concert hall with a seating capacity of 600, and large and commodious business blocks. and handsome residences.
