LAKE GENEVA. Formerly known as Geneva, is picturesquely situated on the lake from which it takes its name, and on the C. & N. W. Ry, and is a flourishing village in Walworth county, 10 miles from Elkhorn, 53 from Milwaukee, and 72 from Chicago. It is one of the loveliest summer resorts in the country, and the shores are dotted with villas erected by wealthy Chicago merchants, and several large steamers and a fleet of row boats are in constant readiness to convey pic- nic parties to different points on the shore. The lake affords excellent water power utilized by flouring and oatmeal mills and an agricultural implement fac- tory. The products of the above, with pork and wool, form the shipments. Sev- eral good hotels cater to the wants of the traveling public, and the city contains 6 churches, representing as many denomina-
