Mary Stratton to take the said Hanna Hooper for one Month from the 26: Day of Jenuary Current, and to keep an Exact account of What Coft and Charge She is at and to bring in hir account to the Selectmen in Order to be adjufted. At the above Sd meeting the Selectmen appointed Nath" Harris Esq' and M' Sam" Peirce two of the Selectmen to go Down to Cambridge to M' Jofhua Gamiges and take an Inventory of the Goods which the above Sd Hannah Hooper Sayeth She hath Lodged there (and It being hir Defire) and make Reporte to the Selectmen at thire Nex meeting.

Refufed to take the Oath and accordingly payed Down his fine at Sª meeting M' John Chadwick tuck the Oath of Surveyor of highways, it was agreed upon at Sd that M' Jofeph perce and M' Thomas Biglow two of the Selectmen Should Go to M' Perce the Schoolmaster in the west precinct and Defire him to Continue in the Bufinefs of keeping of School So as to make up his year and make return to the Selectmen the Next meeting.


At Sd meeting the Selectmen Defired M' Samuel Perce and M' John Sawin too of the Selectmen, to take Care and provide a place for hannah Hooper and remove hir to it as Soon as they Can and make return to the Selectmen at the Next meeting &c. At Said meeting the Selectmen were Informed that one Jean Coopper with hir Child Thomas Coopper is Come to refide in the Town. She Came Last from Lexington, of poor Sircomftances the Selectmen feering She would prove Chargeable to the town of watertown refufe to accept of her with hir Chield to be Inhabitants of Sd town. and therefore Orderd the Clerk to write a warrant to Con- ftable flagg to warn the Sd Jean Coopper to Depart with hir Chield forth with out of watertown and No Longer to abide therein.

At a Meeting of the Selectmen of Watertown on the Second Day of Apriel 1736 : Ordered at Said meeting that The Treafurer of the town pay out of the money that was Granted for the Sup- porting of the Schools in the town the Sum of fifteen pounds to M' Peirce the prefent Schoolmafter in the weft precinct of the town, for his firft Quarter, (2) M' Samuel Pierce, and M' John Sawin two of the Selectmen which were appointed to provide a place for Hannah Hooper, reported that they had provided a place with the Wido Randal at 12 : per week and removed hir there. (3) M' Joseph Pierce and L. Biglow too of the Selectmen which were Defired the Laft meeting to treet with M' Peirce to keep the School in the weft precinct, reported that they had agreed with M' Pierce to keep the School untill he had made up his Year.

At a meeting of the Selectmen of Watertown on the 21 Day of June 1736 ordered at Said meeting that the Treafurer pay out of the Last town afsefment, the Sum of Thirty pounds to M' Nath11. Harrington Prefent Schoole master the one halfe of his Sallery for this prefent Year.

At Sd meeting the Selectmen were Informed that one Jonathan Undorwood and his wife ruth underwood, and three Children are Come to refide in Watertow who Came Last from Woburn in the County of Middx. the later end of Apriel last past and Now refids in the Dwelling houfe of Capt. Nathaniel Bowman of Cambridg, and alfo one mary Cammacel who Came Last from boston in the County of Suffolk and now refides in the house of Ebenezer Thatcher in Sd town She came Sumetime in May last past.

Whether they Will Dismifs all Comtees. that have been Chofe to maniage any matter or thing relating to the Highways Town ways &c. And if this pafs in the Affirmative then further to know the mind of the Town Whether all the Quit Claim Deeds that have been Given by the Towns Comtee to any perfon or perfons, and Alfo al Bonds and Oblagations that have been Given to Sd. Comtee. by any perfon or perfons may be Given up Canfeled and made Voide and of None Efect (6) to know the mind of the Town Whether they Will Sink Sundery Perfons Rates in Some of the Late Conf. Lists of Rates Commiteed to them to Colect for Such reasons as they Shall offer &c-Ordered at Sd meet- ing that the Clerk Signefye to the Conf. to Notefye the towns Creditors to meet the Selectmen at Capt. Saltmarfhes in Sd. town at two of the Clock in the afternoon of the 26 Day of Novbr. Currant &c.
