Then the Reprefentation of the Honourable Houfe of Repre- fentatives recommended to the Towns of this Province was Pub- lickly red at Said Meeting.
At a Meeting of ye Selectmen of Watertown at ye great Bridge in Said Town on the I Day of Novemb'. 1731. After viewing of Sd Bridge to Se what is Necefsary to be Done for Securing the Same We find it Necefsary that some thing be Done to repair Sª Bridge for the Security of it and the Safty of Pafsangers, M' Wm Williams being prefent, the Selectmen Defired the Sd Williams to undertake to Do forthwith what is Necefsary to be done for the Repairing of Said Bridge for the Prefent. And to Lay his Acct. of sd Service before the Selectmen for Allowance. M' Williams Confented thereto and undertook to Do Sd Service.
At Sd Meeting M' Richd Park Juner Made Aplication to ye Selectmen for their Confent to his Diging a Ditch upon ye Town High way by the Dam, the Selectmen Agree to take the matter into Confiederation till ye Next Meeting, and M' Parke to Notify the Proprietors of the Dam to be at Sd Meeting.
At a Meeting of ye Selectmen of Watertown on the 22 Day of Novemb'. 1731. the Selectmen Agreed that there SId be a Town Meeting on ye 6th. Day of Dec" Next at Eleven of ye Clock in ye forenoon At ye Publick Meeting houfe in ye Eaft Precinct. Agred y Town Creditors bring in y' Credit to ye Selectmen ye 3ª Day at one Clock in ye After noon at Mrs Learneds. At a Meeting of the Selectmen of Watertown at L' Samuel Stearnes on the 11th day of February 1731 / 2 At Sd Meeting a Petition Signed John Child and others was prefented to the Select- men, praying that the Selectmen would Lay out a Way for them from Dea : Jonathan Sanderfons to the Country Road on the great Plain in Sª Town ; Alfo A Petition Signed Joseph Patterfon and others praying for a way to be Laid out to their lotts on Profpick Hill (so called) the Selectmen Appointed to go and View Sd places on Wedenfday the 16th of this Inftant February. ye Selectmen defired Mefsrs. John Tayntor and Samuel Brown to Notifie the owners of ye Land on Profpeck M' Jonas Smith is defired to Notifye the owners of ye Land where ye other way is Petitioned for.
Complaint being made to the Selectmen by Some of ye Creditors of ye Town that they are keept out of their dues, to their damage by reafon that the Conftables are delinquant in Collecting ye Afsef- ments Committed to them, and making up with the Town Treaf- urer. The Selectmen taking this Matter in to confideration, Ordred the Town Treafurer to Sue Such Conftables as are Delin- quent to the Next Inferior Court.
The Selectmen are Informed that there is one James Shurlo and one Samuel Shanham with their families come to Dwel in Water- town and Now refide in Cap. Nathanael Bowmans Dwelling houfe which is in Sd Watertown, they came from the Town of Brookline in the County of Suffolk to Sd Watertown about ye 30th of November Laft paft the Selectmen fearing that ye Sd Shurlo & Shanham with their families may prove Chargable to Water- town ; Ordred ye Clerk to Isu out a warrant to one of ye Conftables of Watertown forth with to warn ye sd Shurlo & Shanham with their families forthwith to depart out of Sd Watertown and no longer to Abide therein, the Selectmen refuefing to Accept of them to be Inhabitants of Watertown.

A Town Way Stated and Laid out by the Selectmen of Water- town for the Towns Ufe, Said Way begins at the Town Way Near the Dwelling Houfe of M' Thomas Stratton of sd Town Running from Said Way on the Land of Elifha Smith by the Squadron Line as the Way is now fenced or Left out untill it comes to the corner of Said Smiths Orchard or So near as Conveniantly to turn

off from Said Smiths Land over the Squadron Line onto the Land of the above Said Thomas Stratton, and runing from thence on the Said Strattons Land by the Squadron Line (on the Southerly Side) untill it coms to the Land of ye Said Elifha Smith and from thence running on the Land of the said Smith by the Squadron Line untill it comes to M' John Tayntors Land then runing on the Sd Tayntors Land by ye Said Squadron Line untill it comes within a few Rods of Enf" Samuel Gearfields Land. Said Way to be two Rods wide (Southward from the Sd Squadron Line) thus far, then Sd Way to turn from Sd Squadron Line on the Land of ye Sd Tayntor runing over a Corner of Said Tayntors Land with a Conveniant turn to the Dividing Line between the Said Tayntors Land and the Land of the abovesd Garfield. Said Way to be two rods in Wedth from sd Wall Wefteward, thus far the Proprietors of the Land on which Sd Way Runs do give their Land for Sd Way referving the wood Standing and being on sd way, then sd way turns off from Sd Browns Land on to the Land in the Pofsefsion of Thomas Harrington and runs as the wals Stand & are Agreed on to Stand untill it comes to the Contry Road, Sd way on the Land in Pofsefsion of ye sd Harrington to be but one rod and half in width, the Petitioners for the abovesd way having purchased So much of ye sd Harrington at their own coft and Charge that they might obtain a way to their refpective Lots, and to Save the Town from Charge.

The Selectmen of Sd Town being Informed that there is one James Shurlo and one Samuel Shanham with their families come to dwell in Sd Watertown, who came with their families from the Town of Brookline in the County of Suffolk to Watertown abovesd aboute the Thirtyeth day of November Laft Paft, and Now refide in Capt Nathanael Bowmans Dwelling houfe which is in Sd Watertown, the Selectmen fearing they may prove a Charge to Watertown do refufe to Accept of then ye Sd Shurlo and Shanham with their families to be Inhabitants of Watertown.
Thefe are therefore in His Majes: Name to Will and Require You the Sd David Meed forth with to Warn the above Named James Shurlo and Samuel Shanham forth with to depart with their wivs & families out of Watertown, and no longer to Abid there in. Hereof fail not and make return of this Warrant and your doings thereon to the Selectmen or Town Clerk Seafonably before the Next Court of General Sefsions of the Peace to be holden at Charlftown in sd County.
