Hastings, the Selectmen are alfo informed that there is one Sampfon a Lame Negro man come to Dwell in Sd Watertown, who Came Laft from Providence in ye Govermt. of Rhoad Island Some time in ye Month of Jany or feby. Laft past (as ye Selectmen are informed) who refides Now wth. And to Notify the Selectmen of Waltham to Attend Sd preambula- tion as aforesd at the Northerly Corner Next Cambridge Line, At Eleven of ye Clock in the forenoon of ye AforeSd Day, And alfo to Notify the Selectmen of Newton to Attend Sd preambulation at five of ye Clock in the Afternoon of Sd Day to meet at the Dwelling houfe of M' Richd Park, And Appointed M' Jonas Bond and M' Oliver Livermore to preambulate as aforesd.

The Selectmen then Agreed to give out Warrants to ye Several Conftables in sd Town to Warn all the Freeholders and other Inhabts of sd Town who are Quallifyed by Law to Vote in the Choice of a Reprefentative: To meet at the publick Meeting houfe in Sd Town, on Munday the fifteenth day of May Currant at four of the Clock in the After noon To Elect & Depute one perfon to Reprefent Said Town in the Great and General Court, for his Majesty's Province of ye Massachusetts in New England for ye year Infuing.

Agreed yt Benj" Haftings be defired to take the care of ye Great Bridge over Charles River in Sd Town to Mend the Same as yr Shall be Ocation, and to bring in An Acct of his Labour to ye Selectmen in ord' for paymt, Agreed yt ye Selectmen Meet at John Browns on ye 22 day of May Currant at one of ye Clock after Noon in Ord' to Confider what is proper to be done as to ye Repairing of ye Great Bridge. And yt ye Clerk Notify ye Selectmen of Waltham & Wefton of Sd Meeting that they meet the Selectmen of Water- town at time & place on Sd Affair if they Se meet.

Ordred the Treafurer to pay out of the Last Town Rate or Afsefm' To the Sundry Perfons to whom the Town is Indebted whofe Accts have been Alowed & Money Granted to Satisfy them, what is Justly due to them.


Alfo to pay or Caufe to be paid the Sum of Two hundred pounds To the Revd M'. Seth Storer as it be comes due it being So much Granted him as his Salery one Year & Quarter.


And to M' Nath1. Harrington Schoolmafter the Sum of Seventy five pounds as it becomes due.

Confideration that it might be a benefit to ye Publick, gave their Confent and Accordingly recommended him as a Sutable perfon.


At a meeting of the Selectmen on the 27th of June 1738. At the Dwelling houfs of Joseph Mason Esq'.


Mr. Timothy Winn of Wobourn having Appli'd to ye Selectmen of Watertown On Acc. of Mary Maddocks the Wife of John Mad- docks who is at prefent at his houfe, And Informed them that the Selectmen of Wobourn would order her return to Watertown in cafe the Selectmen would not give Security to Indemnify Woburn the Sd Winn further Informed the Selectmen that Mrs Maddocks was Very well Contended at his houfe but that he Could not keep her without Some recompence, and was willing to keep her at Ten fhillings pr Week. The Selectmen having taken the Matter into Confideration, thought (all things Confidred) that it would be prudence and beft for Watertown that She Continue at sd Winn's (She being so well contented there) and ye Selectmen Agreed that when ye sd Win Shid come again, and Se caufe to keep the Sd Maddocks that he Sld till further Ord' of the Selectmen At as low a Rate as the Selectmen Can Agree wth him for.
