to View the great Bridge to Se wt is Necefsary to
3 Towns &c be done for the Speedy repairing of ye Same. the Sd Selectmen having View'd the Sd Bridge they find it Necef- sary that ye bridge over the Mill Crick, be Speedly Covred wth a Coat of New plank. And to take the beft of ye old plank yt Shall be taken off, to mend ye great Bridge where it is wanting.
The Sd Selectmen Agreed yt ye Selectmen of Wefton procure five hundred feet of good three Inch Oak plank, and bring them down as Soon as may bee to ye Bridge.
And whereas there wants Some gravil to be carried on to sd Bridge, Agreed yt ye Selectmen of Watertown take the care that the plank when brot. be wel laid where they are Defigned and what gravil is Necefsary be carryed on where it is wanting.

The Selectmen being Informed that there is one Mary Rofs come to Watertown and Taken in by Jonathan Gardner She came to Watertown by Information ye begining of June Laft and Laft from framingham her Circumftances being Such ye Selectmen refufe to Accept of her to be an Inhabt. in Sd Watertown.
Ordred the Clerk to Isu out a Warrant to Warn ye sd Mary Rofs forth with to Depart out of Watertown. (which was accordingly done).
At a Meeting of ye Selectmen on the 22 of Novembr. 1739. at M' Jonas Bonds. Mary Maddocks ye wife of John Maddocks being come again to Watertown, And having Made her Application to ye Selectmen under her Needy & low Circumftances for Support, the Selectmen having taken the matter into Confideration, And Confidering the Matter Effects the Town of Waltham as to ye Matter of Supporting of her.
Ordred the Clerk to Notify the Selectmen of Waltham, that the Selectmen of Watertown do Appoint to Meet on Munday ye third day of Decemb' Next at the Widw. Mary Coollidges Inhold'. at three of ye Clock afternoon & to Defire them to meet with them at time and place to confider what is proper to be done in sd Affair. (a Notification was Sent). The Selectmen being Informed that there is one Sarah Wolfon Come to refide in Town at ye Houfe of Benj". Chadwicks She came laft from Bofton Some time in Augst Laft paft her Circumftances being Such y ye Selectmen fearing She may prove Chargable to ye Town. Ordred ye Clerk to Isue out a Warrant to warn ye sd Sarah forth with to Depart out of Watertown (a warrant was Isued out)
The Selectmen Defired M' Jona". Brown (one of ye Selectmen) to take the care of graveling the great Bridge where it is Needfull. And ye sd Brown undertook to do ye Same.
December the 3d. 1739. At a Meeting of ye Selectmen of Water- town at ye Wid" Mary Coollidges by Appointm'. (the Selectmen of Waltham did not Come)
At Sd Meeting M' Stephen Palmer of Cambridge who had kept a Child of John Maddocks Some Confiderable time declared to ye Selectmen that He wld keep ye Sd Child No longer, and Expected the Selectmen wld Emediately take ye care of it. At this Meeting M' Josiah Perry of Watertown Appeared to take Sª Child as an Apprentice if ye Selectmen wld bind the Child to him, the Select- men Concerned for ye Child Agreed to bind out the same to ye sd Perry It being An Agreable place. and Defired ye sª Perry to fetch ye sd Child to morrow morning from ye sª Palmers.
At this Meeting Ordred the Clerk to Isue out Warrants for the Warning of a Town Meeting. to be at the Ufal place on Munday the 10th Inftant at Two of ye clock after noon for ye Ends follow- ing. viz *. whereas it Appears by the Tax bill Sent to Watertown

for ye Pfent Year, that Sd Watertown is Set or Taxed in S4 Bill, as much as if Waltham had not been taken off from them, which makes Watertown almoft double in sd Tax in proportion wth other Towns, and to what they wld have been if Waltham had been Taxt their proportion.
To know the Mind of the Town whether they will Impower their Prefent Reprefentative in the Name & behalf of Watertown, to Adrefs the Great & General Court at their Next Sefsion for Releaf, refpecting Sd Tax laid upon Watertown.
To hear An Act (of ye great & General Court) Intitled an Act for the better prefervation and Increafs of Deer with in this Province.
