The Selectmen upon view were of Opinion that w M' Richd. King prayed for in his Petition to ye Town Laft March wld would be very prejudical to ye Bridge & to the Publick.

Then ye Vote was put whether M' John Hunt Should be one of ye Perfons who Shall have a pew lot in ye aforesd place to Errect and Build a pew on for the Accomodating his familie And ye Vote past in the Affirmative.


Voted that if the Perfons whom ye Town have Agree'd Shall have the pew Lots aforesd, can't Agree among themfelves as to the perticuler Spots where they Shall refpectively Build their pew on, that then the Town by their Vote in Some reguler meeting (to prevent Difordr) will Afsign & perfix to each of ye Sd perfons the perticuler Lot or place where he Shall Errect his pew upon.

At a meeting of ye Selectmen of Watertown, Wefton & Waltham at ye Wid" Mary Learneds on the 21 day of Sep'. 1741. The Great Bridge over Charles River in Watertown wanting Some Repairs. It was Agre'd by ye Sª Selectmen to procure four hundred of good Oak plank for Sd Bridge Sixteen feet long & three Inches thick. Said Selectmen Agre'd that ye Selectmen of Wefton pro- cure the Same, as good & as Cheep as they can, and Convey them to Sd Bridge as Soon as may be. Alfo Agre'd y' M' John Mirick (one of ye Selectmen of Wefton) procure a String piece for the Bridge over the Mill Creek, Sd String piece to be 13 & 11 Inches & thirty feet in length. at ye rate of 50 / the Tun, and to be brot to ye Sª Bridge as Soon as May be.


Agre'd that M' Benj". Haftings lay ye plank & String piece when they come. The Selectmen alfo Agreed with Sd Haftings to take care of Sd Bridge to mend the Same from time to time as there is Ocation, till further Order. and to take care to Secure the Old plank Shall be taken off of sd Bridge. that it may be for Mending of sd Bridge as there is Ocation for it.

The Selectmen being informed of ye poor Circumftances of of Nath'. Stearns Defired M' Jona". Brown & M' John Taynter two of the Selectmen to go to Sd Stearns and inquire into his p'fent Circumftances and make report to ye Selectmen at their Next meeting.


Novemb'. 6th: 1741. The Selectmen Preambulated the Line wth Benjamin Haftings in Perrys Lane (So Called) And Sd Haftings to Begin at the South end. at the Weft Side of the poaft at the weft end of ye third Lenth of Rayl fence from ye Ancient bounds, the bredth of his wall to be set up to be on ye weft Sid of sd poft. and to Run from thence Straight to the Estermoft poft Standing by ye Spring & Eaft of the Spring. & from thence to a Stake abt. three feet Eaft of the Rayl fence and a little South of the whelm. And the And the Reft of the way to be left full Two Rods Wyde. & abated Sd Haftings Twenty Shillings for the Land left out. (of wt he was to give by bond to ye Town's Comtee.) for ye better accomodating ye Lane. Prambulated wth Capt Joseph Coollidge in Sd Laine. And Sd Coollidge to begin at Benj".
