Complaint being made by said Coolidge to ye Selectmen that ye Widow Webb (who is at his houfe) is under Such weak and Difficult Curcomftances yt She is not capable of maintainig her Self and that he could not take the care of her with out Some Satisfaction, the Sª Coollidge did alfo inform ye Selectmen that the Said Widow had Some houf hold goods (at his houfe) that belonged to her. The Selectmen taking the Matter into Confideration ; and after Difcourse had with Sd Widow and finding her under low weak & Difficult Curcomftances No ways able to Support her Self Did then Agree with the Said Coollidge to take care of her and look well after her for the Space of one Quarter of a Year from ye Date hereof and to have a reward of fifty Shillings from ye Town therefor. Samuel Stearns and M' Jonas Bond two of ye Selectmen to prefer a Complaint at the Next General Sefsions of the peace to be holden at Concord, Against Two of the Afsefsors of Watertown, viz Deacon William Brown and M' Nathanael Har- ris for their Neglecting to make the Rate granted for the Support of the Schoole on the 16th. day of January Laft past. At sd Meet- ing the Selectmen Ordred the Treafurer to pay out of the grant of money Made for Ephraim Smith Laft December. to M' George Lawrance the Sum of five pounds in part for his keeping of Sd Smith this prefent year.

At a Meeting of the Selectmen of Watertown and Wefton at Mrs. Learneds. on the 12th day of October 1730. in order to View the great Bridge in Sd Watertown to Se wt. is Necefsary to be done to Secure Sd Bridge, the Selectmen of both Towns having Viewed Sd Bridg they Concluded that it is Necessary to procure New Plank for one piere, and to mend the other peere with the old plank & whereas New plank can't prefently be procured, and it being of Necefsitie yt Some thing be Speedly done to Said Bridge, M' George Harrington being prefent, Informed the Selectmen that he had Some plank that would do to mend the Bridge for the Prefent ye Selectmen Defired Sd Harrington to bring Sª plank and to mend the Bridg with them where it is moft Necefsary to be mended, the Selectmen Agreed alfo that there be a knee or knees fixt at the End of some of the String pieces where they want Strengthing and that this work be done forthwith, the Selectmen alfo Defired M'. Harrington to procure the New plank propofed for Sd Bridge and to Do it as Soon as he can git them Sawn, And bring them to Sd Bridge which the Said Harrington promifed to do And after Said Work is done Said Harrington to Lay his Acct. before the Selectmen abovesd And to be Satiffyed for his Service by the Towns Abovesd. The Selectmen Defired M' George Law- rance one of ye Selectmen of Watertown & M' Ebenezer Allen one of the Selectmen of Wefton to Direct and Afsist M' Harrington in Mending the Bridge as above Said.

(2) To grant a Town Rate or Afsefmt. to pay the Town Creditors the Support of ye Grammer and English School in the Town, the Support of ye poor. and what may be thought Necefsary for the repairing ye great Bridge over Charls River in sd Town. 3. to Know the mind of ye Town whether they will grant a Sutable Sum of money for the Incour- aging of Learning in the more Wefterly part of ye Town which cannot Convienantly Send their Children to ye School where it is now keept. 4.
