The Great Bridge over Charles River in Watertown being very dangrious by Reafon of ye Defectivenefs of ye plank. and there being no plank to be got at the Mills, the Selectmen Agre'd to buy five pieces of Timber of M' Thornton at four pounds pr. Tun. & Defired M' Jon" Bemis to take An Acct of ye Meafure of ye piece of Timb' and git them Sawn in to plank fit to Lay on to ye Bridge.
The Timbers of ye South pier of Sd Bridge being very deffective The Selectmen Judge it proper to have a Meeting to Confider wch will be moft Expedient whether to Repair, or Rebuild Said peir. Accordingly Appointed to meet on ye 15th. of Augst. Currant at ye Widw. Mary Learneds at three clock After noon. to Confider of ye #mifes. And defired the Clerk to Send to ye Selectmen of Wefton & Waltham to Acquaint them of Sd Meeting, and yt ye Selectmen of Watertown defire y' prefence wth them at Sd Meeting, to Con- fider and Advife wt is proper and Expedient to be Done Relating to Said Bridge.

Ordred the Clerk to Isue out a Warrant Directed to ye Conftable of sd Town, To warn the free holders and other Inhabts. of sd Town, Quallifyed, to Meet at the Publick Meeting houfe in Sd Town on fryday the 23d. of Sep' Currant at Two of ye Clock afternoon for ye Ends following viz.
I. To hear the Report of ye Comtee. who were Chofen to Difpofe of Some of ye Towns Land, and Make Reporte for Confirmation how far they have Proceeded further in Sd Affair, and for the Town to Act their pleafure relating to Sd Report.
2. To hear the Report of ye Comtee: who were Chofen to Difpofe of Some of ye Land Lying to the Way's what they have further Done in that Affair, And for the Town to Act y' Mind thereon.
3. There being a Corner of Town Land Lying at ye Eaft End of Biscos Common Orchard (So called) being part of ye Land to be Sold, but So it is that Sd piece of Land Ly's very ill conveant to fence, but may be made much more Convenant for fencing by Altering ye Town way at that place. Therefore at the Motion of the Comtee firft above Mentioned this is Laid before ye Town to know y' Mind, whether they will Alter the Town way leading on the Northerly Side of sd Orchard as follow's, vizt. To turn out of ye sd Way at the Northeafterly corner of Sd Orchard and to Run upon a Slant from Sd Corner on a Straight Line a crofs the Town Land untill it interfex the High Way or Country Road At ye End of Ten Rods Eaft from ye Southeaft Corner of sd Common Orchard and the way to be two Rods wyde from Sd Line, Northeafterly, and the other part of ye Town Way Eaft ward from the AforeSd turning out to be Difcontinued and Sold with the other Town Land Adjoining to it.

The the Comtee abovesd on the 17th. of June following Advertized that piece of Land belonging to the Town Commonly Called King's Common to be Expofed to Sale by Lotts to the Higheft bidder (Agreeable to ye Vote of Sd Town) at the Houfe of David Coollidges on the forth Day of July Next following ye Sd 17th of June. And the Lotts as it was Lotted out are as follow's. vizt. The firft Lot or Nº. I. Contains about Seven Acres and a forth, bounded Southerly by the Town Way, Wefterly by the Way Laid out by ye Selectmen for the ufe of ye Town, and not Yet Laid before the Town, and Elfewhere by Land of James Smith. The Sd Comtee on the Sª fourth of July at the place Appointed as abovesd put up the firft Lot or Nº. I. as above Difcribed (on Kings Common So called) to be bid upon And Two hundred and Seventy pounds Old Tenner was bid by Jonathan Church for Sd Lot Nº. I. who was the higheft bidder.
Then Lot Nº. 2. as above Difcribed was put up to be bid upon, And One hundred and Twenty three pounds old Tenner was bid by Oliver Livermore, who bid in behalf of himfelf and Joseph Mason for Sd Second Lot or Nº. 2. And he was the higheft bidder for Said Lot Nº. 2. on Kings Common.
Then the Third Lot or Nº. 3. as above Difcribed was put up to be bid upon And Three hundred and Ninty pounds Old Tenner was bid by Henry Godding for Said Nº. 3. and he was the Higheft bidder for Sd Third Lott.
Then the fourth Lot or Nº. 4 as above Difcribed was put up to bid upon And One hundred and Sixty five pounds one Shilling old Tenner was bid by Henry Holdin of Cambridge for Sd fourth Lot or Nº 4. and he was the higheft bidder for Said fourth Lott.
Then the fifth Lot or Nº 5. as above Difcribed was put up to be bid upon, And Two hundred and fifty five pounds old Tenner was bid by W" Godding Juner for sd Nº. 5. and he was the higheft bidder for Said fifth Lott.
