COMPILER'S NOTE.

After a critical review of these genealogical records, the compiler reluctantly commits them to the press, fully aware that multitudes of facts and data have been withheld that could and should have been contributed by those most interested who are now to suffer from their loss. Most gladly would the com- piler have received and copied a full record of every family of the town, thus rendering complete satisfaction to all. Hundreds of letters and personal appeals, both in public and private, can testify that he has urged this until the opportunity has ended.

This note is appended that no censure for this lack may rest upon the com- piler, but rather upon those who have neglected or refused to render their records acceptable.
