Residents of Lebanon and surrounding territory joined with the couple in a public observance of their sixtieth anniversary Saturday night. Doctor Billings has been prom- Inent in affairs of the Ozarks region for many years. He was a personal friend of Abraham Lincoln and General Grant, attended several banquets with them and heard the famous Lincoln-Douglas political debates.

The body of P. B. Cornell, 28 years old, brakeman of Harrison, i Ark., who died yesterday morning In a local hospital following ampu- tation of both legs, made necessary by an socident in which his legs were crushed at the ankles when ho fell beneath a freight car Sun- day afternoon, was forwarded this morning by W. L. Starne under- takar, to Harrison, Ark., for burial. Funeral services will be held there at 2:80 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. He is survived by the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Cornell, the wid- ow, one daughter and one son and four brothers. While shifting a freight car Sunday afternoon at Harrison, Cornell slipped and fell beneath the wheels. In spite of medical care, blood poisoning de- veloped and Tuesday the Injured man was brought to Springfield where amputation was found neces- sary.

Mr. Coleman was born November 2 :. 1860. In Webster county the son of John 8. Coleman and BYLE Ruffin "Coleman. "During the clear war the family moved to Marthy fleid, returning in 1867 to Webster county to establish the old Coleman mill on the James river.

A. J. Spencer. 14-year-old High school student at Lamar, was in- ntantly killed at & n'clock yesterday l afternoon while squirrel hunting with two companions near Lamar.
Young Spencer, together with Ralph Springer. son of the Frisco agent at Lamar and Edgar Dia- mond, son of Dr. W. B. Diamond. Lamar dentist, had approached a small stream and were preparing to cross when young Spencer threw his shotgun to the opposite bank. Barton County Officials Fear Foul Play; Man Lurks Near Fire
An Investigation has been launched by Coroner C. F. Konantz as a result of the finding of human bones in the ashes of an old barn. destroyed by fire early yesterday morning at the home of William Frey, farmer living near Lamar.
Frey called Coroner Konantz af- ter noticing a suspicious character lurking near the blaze. After searching the ruins. Frey found a charred bone, believed to be the hip of a man.
No animals have been kept in the barn for some years, the cor- oner was told.

Lamar High School Students in Final Tribute to Comrade
Mourning the death of their chum, A. J. Spencer, killed in a hunting accident Saturday near Lamar, etu- dente in all classes of the Lamar High school were dismissed yes- terday afternoon to attend funeral serVIcos for the Spencer youth at 'the Jamar Methodist church.
Young Spencer, 14-year-old high I school student, was killed Instantly carly Saturday afternoon while enjulrrei hunting with two compan- lons. Preparing to cross a small 'stream, the boy threw his shotgun
, to the opposite bank. The full forced the trigger and the charge of ¡heavy shot struck Spencer in the l forehead. blowing away the top of his skull.
The boy had been one of the most popular young students at tho IJamar High school. Scores of his classmates, and many townspeople. gathered at the Methodist church . for the funeral service. Burial was In Lake cemetery at Lamar. The Spencer youth is survived by his father and mother, a alster and a i brother.
