GRAPES ARE EXONERATED IN DEATH OF TOURIST :
An attack of, apoplexy, rather! than ptomaine poisoning due to the eating of grapes bearing polson spray. resulted in the sudden death' here Monday night of William Mer- 'rill, business man of East St. Louis, ljil, according to findings of. an autopsy conducted yesterday by Coroner Jewell E. Windle.
Mr. Merrill was stricken at a tourist camp alx miles east of Bjwingfield and died within a few minutes. The fact that he had eat- ! ----- en several bunches of grapes a few! hours before and the possibility that the grapea might have retained a slight quantity of polson spray. led members of his family to believe 1.is death due to poison.

"A 'PERSON'S never too old to get married." saye Mrs. Virginta Robinett stoutly-and acting on the courage of her conviction, this lit- Lle greatgrandmother of 74 today will become the bride of Georgs Peater, 81. Civil War veteran and several times greatgrandfather.
And a very pretty bride she will be, with her white hair parted in soft waves over a face delicate of feature and complexion. She is a straight and active little woman who doesn't look "her age by 10 years. In spite of a life not strange to hardship.
-
The marriage ceremony will be performed by the Reverend Ed- ward T. Sloan In Mrs. Robinett's homey cottage at 1984 North Fre- mont -at 1 o'clock this afternoon with her neighbors as gusta.''

About two months ago, mayo Mrs. Robinett, they first began to think of marriage. Their friends encour- aged the idea, she says, and as both have been lonely, they have agreed to live the rest of their uvee together.
Mrs. Robinett has been married twice, and u widow for the past 23 years. She telleves that God brought her and Mr. Henter togeth- er that each niight have companion- ship.
WE'LL BE HAPPY -
, "What God hath Juinted together. Jet nu man put anunder.". she quotes
.-- "I believe that He has brought our hearts together, and that it is right that we should get married. I have ilved alone for many years. and now i bæelleve that I am entitled - to. have a good. Christian compan- Jon to make me happy, and I be- Have we will be happy together.
--
"Even then,' the says, "1 would - never think of marrying. unless I knew that I loved a man, and that our hearts were really united by i God-"
Oh. It is a real romance" this. un- , usual bloom in the winter of life- a winter sheltered and comfort .. .. Mrs. Robinett'a philosophy of marriage is a ¡Tactical combination of. the romantle and the mindern frnunistle.
ON MARITAL BLISS -
"Yes." she says. "I think It's good for a girl to get married. If she marries a man of her own kind; but I think she would do better never 1. get married as long as she lives .. fanless she marries a man who cani du as well in her as she does byl herself."

Only once, to be sure -- yet he liv- ed with his one wife for 60 years, which might be expected to give a man some insight Into the subject. However, he rather agrees with Mrs. Robinett on his Ignorance in the matter-"1 .was married when I was 19, and my wife was only 17-just kids," he laughs, "and we just got

along the best we could. We didn't either of us know very much about It. but we managed." he explains.
Mrs. Robinett was born in Mis- 'souri, the daughter of a pioneer Presbyterian minister, the Reverend Joel B. Kistner. She recalls that after he was too old and ill to go to the church, he gathered hly neighbors around his bed and held wonderful evangelistic meetinga.
In 1871 the married J. M. Farr. 'find bore him nine children before his death, 16 years later. In 1893 she married again. . and had ono more daughter. She has been a while since 1904.
PROUD OF FAMILY
When her husband died, she left thủ Webster county farm and came to springfield, where she has lived ever since.
The rariy years with nine orphan- ed children on her hands were not easy-the fact that ail ten of her children, five boys and five giris. i are Nving, and all ure respected. property-owning citizens, Is a great source of pride and satisfaction to her, and shows how successfully she met her problem.
