This act increases the compensation each member of the General Court shall receive for each regular annual session from fifty-two hun- dred dollars to sixty-seven hundred dollars and increases the additional compensation the Presi- dent of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives shall receive from fifty-two hundred dollars to sixty-seven hundred dollars. The act also increases the additional compensa- tion the floor leaders of the major political par- ties in the Senate and House of Representatives, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means and the Chairman and Vice-Chair- man of the House Committee on Ways and Means shall receive from twenty-six hundred dollars to thirty-three hundred and fifty dollars, and provides that a member of the General Court chosen to fill a vacancy, or who resigns his seat during a regular annual session, shall receive a per diem compensation at the increased rate of compensation for each regular annual session.

RECORD OF ACTION TAKEN AT SPECIAL TOWN MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 19, 1962 IN THE HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM


Pursuant to the foregoing warrant, the legal voters of the Town of Lynnfield met in the High School Auditorium in the said Town of Lynnfield on Monday, November 19, 1962.


The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by John H. Kimball, Moderator, who then pro- ceeded to read the call for the meeting. Unani- mous consent of the voters was given to the admittance of certain unregistered voters and other persons named by the Moderator.


The part of the warrant preceeding the arti- cles was read by the Moderator, who then an- nounced that if there was no objection, the articles would not be read until taken up for action. There being no objection, the Moderator then read that part of the warrant following the Articles including the signatures of the Select- men and the return of service of the constable.


The Moderator read Article 1 of the warrant announcing it to be the first order of business.


Before action was taken on this article and after a motion by Mr. Palizzolo, the Town ac- countant, which was duly seconded, it was voted to take up action on Article 2, the purpose being to have both drainage articles together.


ARTICLE 2.


On motion made and seconded, it was VOTED unanimously to appropriate from Available Sur- plus Funds the sum of $290.81 to pay a bill owed to the Lynn Gas Company for fuel supplied to the Police and Fire Department building. ARTICLE 1.


After motion by Mr. Hobbs, duly seconded, it was VOTED to transfer from Available Funds in the treasury the sum of $8,500. to secure engineering plans, surveys, studies, reports, re- commendations and specifications relative to drainage in the Town of Lynnfield.


ARTICLE 3.


On motion of Mr. Fletcher, duly seconded, it was VOTED to transfer from Available Surplus

Flooding conditions on Salem Street.


Funds the sum of $12,000. for culverts, channel work and rebuilding of 400 feet of Pillings Pond Road.


A motion to amend the original motion to have it read as follows was defeated.


"To transfer from Available Surplus Funds the sum of $14,000. for culverts, channel work and rebuilding of 400 feet of Pillings Pond Road and to install ap- proximately 100' of 30" RCP culvert across Trickett Road off Putney Lane to drain the back marsh into the proposed improved channel. New ditches should be provided to the extent possible to minimize the re- quired length of culvert. The cost of this additional work is estimated at $2,000. ex- clusive of any costs for easements."


There being no further business to come be- fore the meeting, on motion by Mr. Condon, duly seconded, it was unanimously voted to ad- journ sine die.
