Y. City and go with him to Conn. to inspect experiment U. S. Gov't was trying there. The Cuban planter agreed with the theory and started extensive experiments in Cuba at Zorilla plantation, Alquiza, which proved very successful. Was sec. and mem. of com- mission appointed by Department of Ag'r to advise on tobacco growing, 1902. Re- publican. Episcopalian.
