1670, Sep. 5 He cune before the Town Council and presented a deed of gift (signe i by him- if and wife Dethinh under due of September Ist) of certain lands which he gave to his three grandchildren. the sons of Resolved Water- man, deceased. It was ordered that the deed be recorded. To Richard the ellest grandson and Resolved the youngest, SU acres between Providence | and Pawtuxet divided between them, and also a share of meadow, all to be theirs at age. To grandson John, half of all grantor's lands in Warwick. meadow, uphin I and commoning Torthe mother Merey Waterman, use of land while the chil iren ate under age, and if any die before coming of age all the rest of the children, including Wait and Mercy, to have equal share of estate of such dece isel brother.


The children of his deceased son as named in the deed of September 1st (recorded at Warwick), were Richard, John, Resolved Wait and Mercy. The Friends' records state that he lived till he was old, and died and was buried at Providence upon the 26th day of the Sth mo., 1673.

They therefore concluded that " they have proceeded as far in the matter as is for , thein to do, and that the sill Mercy Waterman is liable to respond for the said estate when legally called thereunto as administrator of her own wrong."


There was some jangling after Mercy's second marriage, between her new hushand and her son by ! her first marriage, concerning property.

She was not to suffer the hay from 5 acres to be carried frina; the lot but it was to be faddered upon the said 5 acres. Clement was to allow ber £3, per year ujmaf her changing her condition, till the seven years are out.


Possibly he had another sou, viz: Richard Weaver, who died at East Greenwich, 1752, Oct. 11, aged 70 years, 10 mouths and 20 days.
