Twice afterward they made descents on the island and Thomas Mitchell and Samuel Niles acted as spies upon | their operations on behalf of the party of the ! Inhabitants who had fed to the wools. An account of these depredations was written in later years by Mir. Niles.
No relationship has been traced between him end Elisha Mitchell, of East Greenwich, who died in 1707, and upon whose estate administra- tion was given to son Elisha, the widow Hannah refusing.

1637, Nov. 20. He and others were warned toi deliver up all guns, pistols, swords, powder. shot, &c., because " the opinions and revelations of Mr. Wheelwright and Mrs. Hutchinson bare seduced and led into dangerous errors many of the people here in New England."

He had leave to depart. having offended in signing the petition or remonstrance | and he was ordered tu forbear meddling with | other people in the matter of opinion lest be be further dealt with, and was advised not to sit down within limits of Massachusetts, &c. The l petition referred to (dated 1037, Mar. 15), 1 affirmed that Mr. Wheelwright was innocent and that the court had condemned the truth of Christ 1638. Sep. 9. 1665, May 13. Ifis bill for £6. 3e, for his voynge to Connecticut was approved and ordered paid by Assembly.
1667, May 13. He and other skilled therein were ordered by Assembly to repair ail arms brought them by the Captain or Lieutenant of Train Band of Newport.
1667. Jul. 2. He was to have $10, paid bim, his petition declaring the great charges he hath been at in house rom and promoting of fuel and candies for the General Comirts for many ! years past ; and the Assembly finding that fort four or five years pist he hath had no satisfac- tion.
